The Bog in Saukville has consistently been ranked as one of the top 10 golf courses in Wisconsin. At 7,110 yards from the back tees, it is a course that will test both your distance and accuracy. The course takes no time in introducing its challenges. It opens with an uphill par 5 that requires a straight tee shot in order to avoid the bunkers that line both sides of the fairway. There are also at least 12 bunkers within 100 yards of the greens just waiting to swallow up errant shots. The golf course also provides a scenic round with mature trees and lush landscaping enclosing most of the holes. It can be a tough test but different sets of tees make it more approachable. The Bog is also a popular place for its practice facility, which includes a driving range and short game area.

Coming back to The Bog

Course is well maintained. It is short but narrow so you have to make shots. Greens are fair.

The scenario there is really nice and have a nice practice center.

Nice course and layout. Need to fix pace--basicallly manage your golf course

We played on a very hot day--real feel temp was 107 degrees. Not super busy, but had a two ball in front of us and they had a four ball in front of them. The foursome was exceedingly slow. The two ball in front of us wasn't setting any records either. Slow more 'seasoned' gentlemen who seemed to need to look at every two footer. The Kohler courses are packed and don't have pace of play issues like that because they MANAGE the pace. Ranger was on the driving range and thats where he stayed. Never saw him once. Cart girl, who sold me a melted Snickers bar said it wasn't busy in front of the foursome. So why are we playing so slowly and taking 5 hourse on a hot day? I suggested to the cart girl that she maybe should put the candy bars in the cooler. Ahhhh, maybe she said. Maybe start managing your golf course and paying attentioin to detail and we'll be back. But not after that debacle.

Tough little track

Strategic play is needed for this one. I barely pulled my driver all day. Short fairway par 4s are not easy, especially when you have so many blind shots. First time playing this course, and it definitely wasn’t easy. Fun little challenge, with great Wisconsin hospitality from the staff. Water was cold, beer was colder.

Goof track. Decent shape. Slow round and marshal now where to be seen

No reall complaints other than pace of play. It was terrible. A twosome in front of our threesome, was held up by a four ball. We ended up playing with a single who was waiting forever on the fourth hole. so he joined us. We still played faster than the two some ahead of us, but, according to the bev cart girl, the foursome in front of them was 'very slow'. Where was the course marshal? Saw him on the driving range at the beginning of the round. Never saw him after that. Terrible pace.

Great track

Made a mistake and underestimated the teatime by two hours on a busy Friday. Rollie the starter was able to get us out in a completely crowded schedule. Great experience would recommend.

No mosquitoes this time

I love the bog it's like a combination of the river / prairie course at Kohler and Highlands at Grand Geneva.

Not a lot of trees for shade but plenty to hit into.

I could not recommend this course more highly although in mosquito season I would rather play the Bull in Sheboygan Falls.

The Bog in a nutshell

Course is a magnificent track with a very unique, fun, yet challenging layout especially for first time golfers, however becomes more and more enjoyable with every round as you become familiar. Pace is always good except around several par 3’s you can expect a backup, almost every round I’ve played here has involved waiting on 11 tee.

Course conditions are always usually pretty great here, as a former assistant super my judgement on my last round was that some of the bunkers got a little carried away with added sand, resulting in pretty heavy pillowy sand that can be quite challenging to recover from.

Looking forward to my next round at The Bog!

Jam packed with 4 somes of elderly men.

They need to account for the fact most of there clients are slow and elderly. Book tee times farther apart.

Five Somes Welcome -Poor Pace of Play -Lousy Customer Service

Played the Bogs today. Nice challenging course. Stuck behind a slow five-some-4:45hrs on a Thursday.

Brought our concerns up to the owner who wasn't interested or concerned. He explained that five-some's were allowed and occur regularly. Told us that we should be happy that we could play there as most courses were under-water (untrue)

We didn't feel welcome or appreciated. Our concerns were not important. Not worth the $95 price or discounted price.

Owner needs to treat people better if he wants return business.

NOT A PREMIER GOLF COURSE -POOR MANAGEMENT.

I think that I will go to somewhere that appreciates my business.

Five Somes Welcome -Poor Pace of Play -Lousy Customer Service

Played the Bogs today. Nice course challenging.

Stuck behind a slow five some -4:45 on a Thursday.

Brought it up to the owner who told us that fivesomes were allowed. Told us that they were one of the only courses open as most were under water (untrue)

Didn't feel welcome or appreciated with our more than valid concerns. Not worth the $95 price or even the discounted price. Owner needs to treat people better if he wants return business.

NOT A PREMIER GOLF COURSE -CUSTOMER SERVICE NON-EXISTENT FROM OWNER

I think that I will play somewhere where they appreciate my business.

BOG is a difficult course

Make sure you play from the proper tees. When we played the Blue tees were less than 10 yards shorter on many of the holes. We should have played White at 16-17 handicaps in mid-seventies.

Soggy

Unfortunately with record rain 3 days earlier we were restricted to cart path only which effects my game and club selection. Not the courses fault and we couldn't reschedule so we played on.
