Cannot say there is 'something about this place' because it's everything about this place. The minute you pull up to the gate there is no doubt you're in for an exceptional experience. The golf course is a masterpiece - more than anywhere else you feel as though God himself put down the land, and the genius of CB Macdonald and his brilliant understudy Seth Raynor arranged 18 holes to fit the terrain. It is simply spectacular. Anywhere you stand, anywhere on the course you get taken aback by incredible views.

The clubhouse is not a massive architectural structure vying for attention, instead it stands in magificent harmony with it's surroundings. Changing one doorknob would be unsettling. The staff and the food are perfect. Sitting on the patio having a post-round southside (their signature drink with a minty/lemonady mix) and taking one of the world's most beautiful sunsets is at least tied for the finest in the world, though when you're there it is difficult to think of one that comes close.
