Cherry Creek - The Woods Course

The call it the woods for a reason. Just enough trees to force you to pay attention. Staff warm and friendly. Would definitely play at this course again.

This used to be a wonderful course. However, the condition it is in now should be an embarrassment to the ownership. Every tee box was destroyed, leaving bare dirt to hit off of. Eventually, we just ignored the white tee markers and found what useful grass there was to tee off. Every Fairway had blight and bare spots, with some approaches being all dry dirt or dead grass. Every green looked like someone was twisting their spikes way across the entire green. The greens themselves were bumpy and had so much dead grass that reading putts was the ultimate guessing game. Finally, the areas around the hole were worn down so badly in some spots, that the grass was actualy brown and thin. The holes looked like they had not been moved in weeks, and the edges were overgrown and irregular. Overall, this was a huge disappointment as this course used to be pristine and challenging. Today it is worse than a local muni at the end of the season. Sad - Groundskeeper, you can do better.

The course needs some serious work on the greens. Terrible conditions. .

Do you think grass is overrated and you’d rather play golf on dirt? Do you think the staff should be rude and unhelpful? Do you think a round of golf should be 6 hours long? If you answered yes to all of these questions then book a round a Cherry Creek Woods. For everyone else, avoid this place like the plague.

Significant wind and rain the previous days made the course cart path only which isn’t the best, but understandable. This is a tough course with some very long holes. White plays to about 6300 yards and there were some holes I couldn’t reach in regulation as an 11 index. The greens were in pretty good shape but the fairways were not. There were lots of bare spots which shouldn’t be the case. I got a very good rate on Golf Now so overall it was a nice round.

The greens rolled fine but the other aspects of the course needs attention.

The course was not in good shape with many spots on the fairways with damage The fairways are very narrow and rogh made ir hard to find balls

Great course for the money. If you have a early tee off time you can play a round with basically no waiting and complete it in 4 hours or less.

All I can say is...What Happened to The Woods? We use to Love this course. Always a great layout , tough conditions and in solid shape. NOT ANYMORE! Greens were in decent shape but the rest of the course was terrible. Nothing cut, difficult to find a ball even a foot off the fairway, and good luck getting a club on the ball in the overgrown wet jungle!.Hopefully they get the course back , but in the meantime save your money, it was junk!
