Cherry Creek - The Woods Course

Upon asking about a shortened first hole I was aas advised that the course sustained some damage from misapplication of herbicide and there are some areas of dirt rather than grass. That made me concerned but we played anyway. Much to my delight the conditions weren’t anywhere near as bad as the description. Yes there were a few signs of this damage but it looked a little like typical courses stress during summer heat & humidity. The greens were good and the tees were fine. Since the growing season is almost done the bare spots won’t get better until spring, but I’m positive that Cherry Creek will recover

First hole was closed Still have burned out fairways. Unfortunate someone put to much fertilizer down and killed a lot of grass in some of the fairways. Didn’t know this coarse is owned by Delalio Sod farms kinda ironic. The links across the street looks awesome

Stay away from this course. Fairways not cut in over a week, as high as rough. We lost 4 balls hit into fairway. Grass higher than ball on ground. Sad this has happened. Putting greens half dirt half grass, bumpy, not cut. And they charge $90 to play this disaster. Was wondering why on a Sat only saw 4 cars in the parking lot. Please do not waste your money.

Pace of play was ridiculous.

Usually this course is in great shape but it was affected by the recent nor’easter. Some trees were down, fairways wet, etc. But it was still fun and challenging to play. Some holes are very narrow, so straight shots are needed. Great clubhouse and restaurant.

The fairways were in Bad shape.

No one repairs their divots on the greens.

Very Disappointed.

Have played this course previously have to tell you it was in terrible condition they were aerating the fairways which we were not aware of the greens are in bad shape around the greens is terrible also entirely too many bare spots all over the course save your money there are much better courses on LI that you can play

The call it the woods for a reason. Just enough trees to force you to pay attention. Staff warm and friendly. Would definitely play at this course again.

This used to be a wonderful course. However, the condition it is in now should be an embarrassment to the ownership. Every tee box was destroyed, leaving bare dirt to hit off of. Eventually, we just ignored the white tee markers and found what useful grass there was to tee off. Every Fairway had blight and bare spots, with some approaches being all dry dirt or dead grass. Every green looked like someone was twisting their spikes way across the entire green. The greens themselves were bumpy and had so much dead grass that reading putts was the ultimate guessing game. Finally, the areas around the hole were worn down so badly in some spots, that the grass was actualy brown and thin. The holes looked like they had not been moved in weeks, and the edges were overgrown and irregular. Overall, this was a huge disappointment as this course used to be pristine and challenging. Today it is worse than a local muni at the end of the season. Sad - Groundskeeper, you can do better.

The course needs some serious work on the greens. Terrible conditions. .

Do you think grass is overrated and you’d rather play golf on dirt? Do you think the staff should be rude and unhelpful? Do you think a round of golf should be 6 hours long? If you answered yes to all of these questions then book a round a Cherry Creek Woods. For everyone else, avoid this place like the plague.
