The Golf Club At Oxford Greens

Played Tuesday and Wednesday. Played there many times live locally always been reasonable enough. Convenient cause it’s because it’s close basically.

Anyway, I guess they were pro grabbing the carts to the GPS system and my cart failed at number 6T box cart was disabled back-and-forth groups ahead as well. A big to do because people didn’t understand what was happening. We had felt we had done something wrong anyway I called the pro shop. They said they were calibrating the carts to the GPS. So that was a ball drop because there was no communication on the way out to play from the pro shop simple words quick explanation before we went out nothing. Example we have a pilot program. We’re implementing new GPS for the cards to make everything more convenient for everyone. Sounds like a good way to approach it, but there was no communication then it happened again the day after at the 17 T box cartpath I was then told what the situation was once I had to call the pro shop again after going through several minutes of failure reverse forward, reverse forward, reverse forward, so please communicate that before you’re sending people out on the golf course and if you plan on having people going off the back first let them know as well. We were not told we teed off the first tea, not knowingly and then receive the prompt on the screen halfway down the fairway so we retrieved our T-ball meanwhile one of your team members came out to let us know and apologized, which was fine. It just seems management needs to be sharpened up a little bit. It always should fall on them at the end of the day so please communicate better before groups go out so they have an understanding and expectations that meet yours so everybody’s happy you’re welcome. And if you want the greens to be kept in good condition, I would recommend giving out low cost ball repair tools. I’m surprised more courses. Don’t do it. It’s the first thing that we should advise golfers to have in their pocket. I’m fixing ball marks repeatedly every green. My grandfather was a superintendent of grounds (Ridgewood country club Danbury, Connecticut)for many years. I was a caddy. I worked inside and outside Golf operations in South Florida ( Bon adventure country club Fort Lauderdale) so my knowledge sometimes unfortunately dictates my expectations when I come out to play.

Exceed my expectations. Fairway, Green, Bunker are all in good shape.

Gnats are swarming you from the opening tee shot until your last putt. Although they don't bite, it is very annoying to be constantly swatting them away from your face. Aside from the gnats, the course is in great condition. Greens were rolling fast and true. We only had to wait on one tee, 10, for maybe 7 minutes. Other than tee 10, it was pretty much hit and go.

It’s a shame they can’t get their act together and maintain this track. It’s just awful…the greens are terrible, tee boxes just full of divots and broken tees, and 5 hours 27 minutes to play today. Brutal. Sorry, never again, not even a last resort course at this point.

Course was nice but condition was so so. The ranger was following us even though we waiting almost every hole to tee off. We later realized they had an outing and needed us off the course. Drink carts were not being held for the outing.

We started the day close to 30 minutes late, it looked like they booked too many groups too close together…. We then were harassed and rushed from holes 8-18 by the starter/ranger to clear the way for an afternoon tournament. We were held up by the group in front of us, and with the late start did not like the ranger chasing us around every hole telling us to speed it up. The other two members of our foursome complained at the desk and were givenn rainchecks, but because we booked through golf now, we were not eligible. This may be the last time I book through golf now and will be the last time I play Oxford greens.

Great course, amazing layout, very difficult at times with sloping fairways and undulating greens. There really is no course like this in this area that has this kind of a course layout. Gets busy towards the evenings with league golf so recommend getting in early if possible. Highly recommend, and if not from the area, it's definitely worth the drive.

Prior to playing my round today (4/26/26), I haven’t played this course since years prior to Covid. I remember even back then, this was a challenging and overall mint condition course. I read a lot of reviews after I had already booked the t-time and was shocked that it was rated so bad. Im not sure what people are really discouraged by, but this course is still absolutely a very nice and well kept course. Fairways and greens were perfect, and sure, some t-boxes were maybe the 10/10 perfect, but nothing the average person should be able to complain about. Overall, great course/great conditions, worth the money (I paid 72$/18-cart).

Best course in my opinion in the New Haven area. Tough course, long par 5's, sloping fairways, challenging greens. Conditions are consistently good. Will play again soon.

Tee box wasn’t flat every tee box was kind of hook lie

Fairway is good but green is slow and damaged a little

Layout is good and long

One of par5 is almost 600yds narrow and long but fun

My concern is green, it was poor managed

It was top10 in Connecticut but with same amount of green fee i rather go to Connecticut national

Very interesting layout. Penalized for off center strikes. Rewarded for hitting fairways. John- the starter was incredible at the start to get us ready with his tips and tricks. I’ll be back. Quickly became a heavy favorite for me.

They put five somes out in front of us and took forever. They were watering a tee box for 15 minutes and we couldn’t play it when I mentioned it to person in Golf shop they just shrugged their shoulders and it is what it is. So only played 17 holes and no concern at all from them. Last time we played, they started off us on 10 and had to wait for two other 4 somes on front nine as we came through. I had to tell the management and they finally put them off on the back nine. A nice convenient course but will never play again.
