Slow

Good layout and conditions. Waited on every tee and aprouch shot. At least 5 times during the round there were 4 groups on a par 4, 2 on the tee one in the fairway and one on or near the green. The round was 5 hrs. I won't be playing there again.

Water jug needed

The course needs a few drinking water stations.

The starter needs to pair some of the small groups together to speed up play. The four groups in front of us consisted of : twosome, single, single and twosome. We were a twosome followed by a twosome. We had a lot of waiting.

No water

It was quite hot when we played and there was no water available on the course. We were able to refill our bottles at the turn in the bar but there wasn’t any other water available on the course.

Poor time management

I had an 11:04 AM tee time that i reserved online the night prior, but when my group arrived we found out there was a tournament with a shotgun start still on the course. We were never notified ahead of time that this would affect our tee time.

Instead of teeing off at 11:04, we didn’t start until around 12:45 PM, over an hour and 40 minutes late. Even worse, no one could give us a clear estimate of when we’d actually get on the course. We were left waiting with little to no communication. The staff offered very little in terms of compensation or an apology, and the overall management of the situation was disappointing. Delays can happen, especially with tournaments, but failing to communicate with customers or manage expectations is unacceptable.

If you’re scheduling public tee times around tournament play, at the very least notify golfers in advance or offer meaningful compensation when delays this significant occur. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I’d think twice before booking another tee time here.

THE VUE is getting there!

Under new ownership and construction, The Vue continues to develop into one of CT's finest courses. There's still some renovations that need to be done, such as to cart paths, fairway borders and the range, but it's ready for your foursome now. The Staff is always amazing and the new golf carts are extremely comfortable. The carts also give you warnings about being near "no go" areas, but thankfully they don't annoyingly shut you down and make you reverse or push it out. I'll be back!

Wouldn’t come back

Unfortunately this was not a great experience. There are courses where you pay a good amount less and it’s just overall better managed and cared for. At the 3rd hole we were in a line to tee off with 4 groups ahead of us… In terms of layout, the front 9 is completely wide open and you can see every player with balls coming from every which direction. The back 9 is then a major change up from how the front 9 and feels like bad flow when you’re playing 18. To leave on a positive note - the carts are new and very nice and we were matched up with a great couple of guys who we really enjoyed playing with.

Good but could be great

Overall The Vue is becoming a very nice golf course. It's very easy to see that they're spending lots of money on the facilities, but they're at least year away. That said, I am not a fan of all the tree removal. My only complaint is the condition of the cart paths, they're terrible and feels like your riding on the moon on some holes.

Character is gone

I use to play in a league at Laurel View 40 years ago. I always felt it was a good course and certainly would have rated it at least with 4 stars. This was the first time back in 40 years. I had heard they had cut a lot of trees down, plus some other changes and I wanted to see what it looked like.

I was very disappointed. The holes were totally unrecognizable. I have never seen such a removal of trees on any course. I felt like I was in Arizona, not New England. It is barren.

Maybe there is a master plan that isn’t completed yet, but in any case has a long way to go before I return.

The Vue has lost a lot of shrubery but still the course is difficult and challenging especially on a windy day.

Course is difficult and challenging especially back nine holes However the golf cart pathways are in bad condition. Many broken pavement and rocks and ditches along the path.
