Northern Dunes Golf Club
About
Northern Dunes Golf Club is a 18-hole championship course that tumbles across the gently rolling landscape of Bruce Peninsula. The front nine lays across natural sand dunes and while the back nine's landscape required a bit more work, it manages to seamlessly blend with the surroundings. Steve Young, the course architect, incorporated the classic elements of a traditional Scottish links layout but he also wanted the course to have a thoroughly modern feel. The result is a challenging design featuring large greens and over 50 bunkers filled with natural sand strategically placed throughout. The prevailing northwest winds provide another tricky element. Northern Dunes G.C. is ideally situated less than 10 miles from Lake Huron and Sauble Beach and is accessible from all directions.

Northern Dunes
I play this course at least once a week and condition has improved over the years. Staff is friendly and it’s nice to see the improvements.
Always friendly staff and good challenging course
Good value for the money. A lot of sand. So I got to practice my bunker shot a lot. The sand box are well maintained and the course is Marchal.
Brutal
Two hours to play six holes! Course was seriously overbooked with no attempt by staff to maintain a reasonable pace of play. Northern dunes can be pretty enjoyable on a weekday if uncrowded, but it is a frustrating waste of time and money on the weekend. On the plus side, the greens and fairways are generally in decent shape this year, although the tee boxes are pretty bad.
Ok option to play
Friendly staff and decent value for 18 holes. The front 9 was very dry and the tee boxes were in bad shape. The back 9 was much better in those areas.
Golfnow price was great; got hosed by the course for a power cart.
Course was dry and hard in places; nothing unusual about that, but they never seem to try and improve the "hard pan/sand baked fairway spots.
It's upsetting to get shafted for pwr cart rental after getting a reasonable green fees discount.
Great layout
Very good layout and the staff do as good a job as possible to keep the course playable/enjoyable through drought conditions. Always have fun playing here!!
Course is great just Don’t hit ball into bunkers so much water you lose your ball on more then a few bunkers and the others could use some fresh sand to make them not so hard. But overall still one of my favorite courses
Nice track
Course was likely in optimal condition due to wet spring and recent rain. Fairways for the most part are fairly generous which may account for good pace of play. Bunkers are sorely in need of a refill but the greens were in great shape. Many large bunkers throughout the course and some trouble outside the fairways make for some challenging holes but degree of difficulty is fair with the exception of #17 which features a huge mound with a boulder on top that spans an exceptionally narrow neck in the fairway about 180 yards out from blue tees.
Overall as I rated, an enjoyable fair test to play at a reasonable price. I would definitely play here again.
