Took us over 5 hours to finish the 18 holes 11;50am tee time
We enjoyed the Brand new cart and the course, location of the golf course however every hole was delayed and took us over 5 hours to finish..
Overpriced and horrific customer service
I had a very disappointing experience at Richmond Hill Golf Club. I accidentally booked a 7:10 p.m. tee time through GolfNow thinking it was 7:10 a.m. When we arrived, the pro shop staff explained the mistake and offered two options: a refund or paying an extra $20 per person to play. Since she specifically told us it was only $20 more each, we agreed and thought the issue was resolved.
Halfway through the round, the manager approached us saying he wanted to “straighten things out” and asked us to see him after the round. When we finished, he was nowhere to be found, and the same staff member then told us we supposedly owed even more money because our original GolfNow booking was a “Hot Deal” rate. She explained we would now have to pay the course’s full regular rate and request a refund through GolfNow ourselves.
If this had been clearly explained upfront, we would have simply taken the refund immediately and accepted responsibility for booking the wrong time. Instead, this was only brought up AFTER we finished the round and after we had already paid the additional $20 per person they originally requested.
The manager then tried explaining how GolfNow payments work, repeatedly cutting us off while insisting we weren’t losing money because GolfNow would refund us. That completely missed the point — the issue was the unnecessary hassle, poor communication, and lack of accountability.
What made it worse was that we later checked GolfNow ourselves and confirmed we actually would NOT have received the refund he claimed due to the cancellation policy.
Rather than acknowledging the misinformation we were given, both the manager and staff shifted the blame onto us. The manager even became aggressive, asking, “Are you really going to ruin the relationship with us over this?” and later saying, “I hope we don’t see you again.”
There are plenty of better golf courses across the GTA with similar pricing and far better customer service.
Nice mix of challenges
This course lets you play strategic golf. Instead of hitting a driver off every tee, you need to plan those first and second shots. The course is tight is some places and some of the greens are small. All makes for a fun day out.
Challenging and enjoyable
I enjoyed ky experience at Richmond Hill course, it takes you out of the city and into a challenging course that elevates your game and experience.
Great day
Weather was great. Played with three local golfers, and had a great day. Course was in great shape with fast greens. Two different style of courses. First nine were pretty flat with lots of doglegs. Back nine was in the valley with various changes in elevation on each hole. Lots of water on all the 18 holes. Great day of golf
Do not waste your time and money
Reg price over $100, only offers 6000 yds at the tips. Not the best condition for the price with the rude staffing at the course. Why go?
This is a really nice course
You'll get a nice mix of challenging and scoring holes. The fairways are fairly wide but the rough is long. The course is always in good shape. There's some water to navigate through and there are some beautiful holes. The 18th is a beast and you will need some accuracy in order to get to the green.
Target Golf - but a fun round
Richmond Hill is a very nice course and in excellent condition. But don't expect to bomb your driver off the tee all day. The course is somewhat short at just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, and there are several tee-shots on par 4 and 5 holes where you likely won't be hitting driver. Still a very enjoyable course to play.
Pace of play was supposed to e 4 hours but the round took 4 1/2. Admittedly, the course was busy, but the pace could have been better.
YOU CHARGE MY CARD FOR A NO SHOW?
You charge my credit card for a no show because my one friend had a family emergency and couldn’t make it!!?? 3/4 showed and played. Waited 15 minutes because no one was in the pro shop to help us and pay for the round. Forgot to give us our included breakfast sandwiches. And then on top of it charge me card for a no show!?
How pathetic. I’ve played this course a hundred times and never have I been this disappointed and outraged. Never again
A GEM just above the city
I can’t say enough about the course, and their amazing staff. Having been a private course member, I switched to become a member @ RHGC, My only regret is that I should have done it sooner. Of course the pace of play can be an issue on some days, BUT on other days we’ve had the course, it seemed like, to ourselves. The course is suited to left hand players, which I’m not. It’s both fun and challenging. Definitely a course worth playing.
Fun course with a friendly staff
I have been golfing at Richmond Hill for many years and like the course layout quite a lot. It has a nice blend of both easy and challenging holes. The staff are very friendly and I've always enjoyed a cold beer and great food after my round.
