Grey Silo Golf Course

First time playing Grey Silo and it was fine. I really liked the layout other than a few long trips between greens and the next tees it was good. I usually walk but glad I didn't for this round!

Course conditions were just ok. Greens rolled ok but were soft and spongy. Some tee decks were not very good at all missing grass and no flat spots to tee it up. Range is irons only which is better than nothing and there was a small chipping green and a good putting green to warm up on. Cart and halfway house staff very friendly as well. It was over an hour drive to get there so I wouldn’t rush back to play it but if I was in the area I will give it another go.

Day started out perfect, lots of sunshine, gentle breeze, friendly staff. The threesome we were following (with two walkers) let us play through on the second hole. Everything was great until. . . as we are teeing off (literally preparing to swing) on the third hole a foursome of entitled members drove past us to get ahead. Didn't ask, just whipped past. We had to wait for them to get out of range to hit and then on EVERY tee block and often a few times on the fairway. didn't reflect very well on the membership of the course. very rude. the marshall spoke to them and the first time they lied and said they were trying to catch up to someone. they were ahead of us the whole round! Marshall spoke to them a second time and they "apologized" to the marshall, but not to us. Didn't enjoy the day at all. Thanks "ladies",

Other than the greens being punched (it was like playing Plinko) and the bunkers being an unplayable mess, the course was in pretty good shape for the opening of the season. I don’t understand why courses charge full price for sub-standard value.

I’d give it a few weeks before heading out unless you’re getting some kind of deal.

Always love playing here. Deserves a higher ranking then what is currently stated.

Played just after lunch on the middle day of a three day weekend. Pace of play was awful.

Good layout, but overpriced and really slow. Course was in good shape for the time of year.

Great fairways, greens and tee decks.

Course in great shape. Fairways, bunkers, greens all superb this early in the season. Amenities not yet up to speed.

The marshals needs better training. Approached us on hole five in the middle of the fairway telling us to speed up we are taking too long, when I told him the group in front of us is on the next tee he said speed up and drove away. On the ninth green he came up again I told him we played the front nine in one hour four five minutes, with two walkers. Also the group in front of us were just walking to tenth tee. Said nothing just drove away. Greens were slow for the cost the golf course should have been better condition.
