The Arnold Palmer Signature Course At Stonewall Resort

Played solo. Most of the reviews talked about cart path only and it was true on the day that I played even though there was no rain that day. The fairways were patchy and it was indeed wet in many parts. The staff was very friendly including the starter and the cart girl. The course design is really good and challenging but fair. Lunch after was really good and the views are amazing next to the resort. I decide to stay at the resort after playing golf. Pace of play was not great, however people were kind enough to allow me play through. Also true to the reviews, the driving range was not open.

Everything was good even though weather was extremely hot. However, Ranger if there was one did not control pace of play. Group in front of us had three holes open in front of them. The only way we got around them was that one of them forgot ahead cover and went back to get it. We were then able to play through and things were much better. Still ended with a 5 hour round.

Stonewall is a beautiful and challenging course. You never know what wildlife you might encounter. The best part of the resort is super friendly staff !

Format time I played was very bad. Amenadities and not good. Staff just okay. Especially for a resort course not up to par. Vourse hreat shape. It was 90 degree. DO NOT PLAY THIS IF CART PATH ONLY!! it seems like they do that often based on comments. JUST A 3 FOR A HIGH END RESORT. NOT WORTH MORE THAN$50.

High expectations and did not deliver. Great layout challenging course and very challenging greens. Great conditions. Everything else was not what expected from "high end resort" course.

Cart path only - the course was not even soft in soft spots. This was a big deal because the course does NOT play fun cart path only. Many reviews say that they frequently do not allow carts fairways when it is not warranted.

Very nice course to play. Lost a lot of balls in the tall grasses that line the fairways. Not the courses fault that I can't hit the ball straight. midweek round was great. there was no one rushing us and no one was really holding us up either. a lot of nice views of the course. The big negative of the whole course though was the signage. Even driving in, there were just no signs. The course itself was kind of confusing in a couple spots. Now that I've played it once I would know where to go and wouldn't be a problem.

There are very few golf courses that are actually a five star experience. This is one of them when the conditions are dry. This is one of my favorite courses to play anywhere. The greens were fast and a little firm. The fairways were immaculate. The overall maintenance around the golf course is excellent. The folks in the pro shop are nice. The restaurant has some amazing food, a little pricey as you would expect. Plus there’s a beautiful five star resort on the golf course property and a beautiful lake for those who like water sports. If Golf only is your thing then try to go when it hasn’t been raining. Because when it’s cart path only you will be walking a lot, you will definitely get your work out. Overall, a great Arnold Palmer designed course that will challenge you like no other in West West Virginia, Virginia

I like all Palmer designed courses. Always look forward to this course. It is fair if you hit the ball well, if you don't hit it well, it does cost you strokes. I like courses that are spread out, Palmer 's courses are.

This has to be one of the top public courses, but obviously not well known out of WV.

This is my second trip to the area and I came back specifically to play Stonewall. It didn't disappoint.

It's a challenging layout that punishers waywood shots.

It's a challenging track with wonderful holes and scenery.

Travelling across USA , we are from Australis and decided after 4000 miles of driving to stop and take in West Virginia from a lakeside resort.We highly reccomend the stop at Stonewall resort and a round of golf.The golf course is spectacular, the golfers were so friendly and it will be a day to remember.Thankyou so much for your hospitality.

The course layout and conditions were excellent. The rest of the course was a hot mess.

Since they hosted a tournament prior to our round, they shut down the drink and food cart. The options for us were very limited and very disappointing.

The cart path was borderline dangerous. We were forced to drive on the grass just to avoid wrecking the cart.

Pace of play was not monitored and it took just short of 3 hours to finish the first 9 holes. Frustrated, we finished #10 and go half way through #11 before giving up and returning to the clubhouse.

Yeah, I’m gonna very disappointed and what we’re supposed to be a quality resort course looking at the design I questioned if Arnold Palmer ever stepped on the property seem to be more of a firm design, considering the nuns did not come back to the clubhouse. Really strange holes couple great some really not good at all for the amount of money they want they should at least give you a dozen golf balls to waste in the place.

Coarse is in great shape heading into the 2026 season. Other then the cart path in a few places everything was awesome. Will be back several times this summer.

6.4 handicap usually play the blue tees. This course always plays 7-8 strokes more for me from the blue.

Play the next tees up and it plays more to correct handicap
