Apple Creek Golf Course

I've played Apple Creek Golf Course several times this summer and spring, and no matter what I've been extremely disappointed and frustrated. Between tee boxes that are almost entirely missing grass, incredibly uneven on every single hole with dips and bumps that leave nowhere to get a half decent lie, as well as simply being unable to get a tee in the ground. Between this and fairways that are so dry and hard my ball can bounce over 20 feet into the air off my tee shot, with fairways that feel like you’re hitting off concrete. In all fairness the greens where not terrible but not great, quick but fair, decently maintained, with a few being slightly patchy.

Even with all of this considered I could justify playing here occasionally if not for the outrageous prices for the quality of the course. Charging 110+ (Not including tips or drinks/food) for a course in this condition is simply robbery, and quite unfair. I would rather play any other course in the area or simply drive an extra 20 minutes to Carstairs to play for nearly half the cost, and much better maintained course.

I have refused to play here for the last half of the season as I can only imagine it has gotten worse as I played right after a week or so of rain. Take my review with a grain of salt in that aspect as a course could improve in this time. However, this course has gone consistently downhill the past few years.

Its a shame to see the course in this condition as it could be a very nice course if it was better maintained.

(Most if not all tee boxes where the same or worse than seen in the photo with the exception of maybe 2-3 tees.)

We played 9 holes and it moved very quickly. For $45 with a cart it was a pretty good bang for our dollar. Course is not in the best shape. Tee boxes are rough and all the fairways are dry and hard as cement. Greens were pretty good I thought. Not much variation (no sand traps). Pretty typical of a farmers field prairie course. Would play again, but not at the top of my list.

Pace of play was bad - 5 hrs & 19 minutes to play 18 holes. Marshall didn’t seem to care enough to get it moving. Some tee boxes in rough shape - greens were okay.

Pace of play was absolutely horrendous even though the Marshalls addressed our concern.

The course is in terrible condition! Probably the worst tee boxes I have ever seen our golf course. Greens look like they have winter kill on them still at the end of June.

I would give zero stars if possible. Marshal was extremely rude, horrible tee boxes, greens are like concrete but slow at the same time and no sand whatsoever. Don’t waste your money here.

Extremely windy day so the hand of God was a factor! That being said the spring conditions were also took a toll on the game. Greens were giving cart path bounces and perfect shots to the fairway equaled some loss balls. Course layout is a little confusing as you really need to watch the signs to get to the right place. I’m thankful the course was open and it was still better than not playing at all. Staff was incredible and super nice. Course just needs some fairway and greens love. Still lots of fun!

The course was so dry that we couldn't get out Tees into the ground. Hazard markings left a lot to be desired - not knowing where and when they were present. Only the 9th and 18th holes had distances from the tee to the hazard
