Never play at this course
Played 9 holes for 2:30 hours, no ranger. Made the turn and they sent 4 additional groups off the back to play 9 in front of us. Literally turnaround and went home. Let alone it cost $50 to play at this very poorly maintained golf course. Do NOT play here

Slow pace a ranger would be helpful to set pace of play enforce common play etiquette.

Challenging Enough to Keep Me Honest
Really enjoyed my round at Chick Evans! I’m definitely not a pro golfer, but the course was in great shape and offered just the right amount of challenge. It kept things interesting without being overly frustrating. Best of all, I managed to lose only a few balls 🤪. Great course for golfers who want a fun round while still being tested a bit. I’ll definitely be back!

Fine but slow
There’s just no reason it should take over 5 hours to play here. Had to wait on every single tee box. Rangers need to do a better job of enforcing pace of play. Group ahead of me waited for the green to clear on several par 4’s and then barely hit it past the women’s tees. Bad groups like this ruin the round for others

You’re Joking Right
Booked a 6:10am tee time hoping to avoid the usual Saturday morning 5 hour round. Online booking offered 10 minute tee times which is nice. Got there a half hour early only to find that between sunrise and the first half dozen slots this place allows anyone who is on a first name basis with the starter or the pro-shop guy to just show up and they will be “fit in” between the 10 minute slots. I asked the starter why they were running 15 minutes late at 6:00 am in the morning and he gave a lie of an answer stating that the first few available tee times are spaced 5 minutes apart. I wonder if the Forest Preserve administration is aware of this situation and hopefully will put a stop to it. This being Chicagoland that’s highly unlikely. As for the course…, a few good holes, but mostly short par 4’s with no challenge including a couple goofy holes where 8 iron 7 iron is the only way to play it. Never Again…Avoid this place. Plenty of better options in the area.

Not too good.
They removed all of their ball washwrs, pace of play was horrible, tee boxes were totally torn up, and they still charged quite a bit of money.
Ball washers have been placed back on the course as we ordered new ones and they were back ordered. Early season we were dealing with flooding issues and we are finally caught back up. I think you will see different conditions the next visit to the course. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and give us another shot I think you will be extremely happy you did.

Horrendous pace of play
The faculty that work at this course are incompetent at managing pace of play. They don’t send anyone out on the course to tell people to hurry up. If you find out you’re playing behind a group outing—get ready for a 7.5 hour round.
Pace of play is an issue that all golf courses face, so thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. We will work hard in the future to make sure we are doing a better job at getting around making sure pace is moving along. Give us another shot and we believe you will see a turnaround.
