Sugar Ridge Golf Club
About
One half of Sugar Ridge Golf Club is situated in extreme southwestern Ohio while the other half winds up into the Indiana hills. The border location may be unconventional but the setting provides a dramatic backdrop. The course sprawls across rolling hills that are abundant with wildlife. Wild turkey and deer have been known to roam the golf course. The layout has a few parallel fairways though the trees, and hills give each hole a completely secluded feel. The back nine feels more open than the front, but that may only be because of the ponds and lakes that come into play on many of the holes. Throughout Sugar Ridge Golf Club, golfers will find that the par 3s are fairly straightforward and the par 5s have sloping, uphill fairways that make them feel even longer. There are a few memorable par 4s, notable for both their scenery and level of difficulty.

Golfer Reviews
Sugar Ridge is a great challenging course
The staff were super friendly and the course was in excellent shape even after rain. We had a great time.
Great course, slow play!
I've played this course 100's of times, but lately the pace of play is awful. 7 holes in 2 hours is insane I walked off after 7 holes, group of old farts behind me kept hitting into me when they could clearly see I was waiting. No ranger to address the issue either, I wont be back until they fix the pace of play its the worst I've seen.
Great layout, terrible customer service
Played sugar ridge for the first time today as a single on a Tuesday morning. There were maybe 3 other groups on the tee sheet before 9:00 AM. Guy in the pro shop tells me going off #10 and has me sign for cart #20. Pro shop employee asked if I’d play there, I said no, so he gave me instructions on where to get the cart and how to get to hole 10. I get to hole #10 and they’re actively aerating the back 9 greens. I 1000% get having to do that, but why tell people to go off where they’re working? Then, I’m on hole 17, and a ranger comes up. First time I’ve seen him. He starts going off on me that I “moved the barriers by the carts to take the first one.” I said sir I signed for #20. He got all mad at me and said “no you didn’t! And now I have to come out here looking for carts!” I tried talking to him but he took off in his cart. Strange dude.
Other than that, the layout of this place is awesome. Some really cool unique holes.
Great course!
First time playing at sugar ridge. The staff was friendly and the course was well kept. The carts are very nice with the screens to show distance and location of other carts. We will definitely come back to play again.
Worst pace of play in the history of golf
Tee time was for 11:51. We were held on the first tee by the starter untill 12:20. We didn’t finish our round untill after 6:00 pm and waited before every single shot. This was the longest most dreadful game of golf I have ever played in the 25 years I’ve been playing golf. I would go back to play for free
Two Different Courses
It was like playing two different courses. Length and type of grass varied between holes.
Length of grass resulted in spending too much time looking for your ball.
A great course layout and with improved turf conditions this could be a five star course.
SR
The course is much improved since last year. New cart paths on back nine and areas of rough are much more playable.
Fireman Tournament
Love this course. Concrete paths make the course easy to get from hole to hole. Greens were in great shape. Really enjoyed it and look forward to returning.
