Enjoyable course, nice shape, good value. However, concerned about course maintenance as it pertains to safety. The bridge over the creek on the par 3 13th hole has a "hump" design. When it is wet out, it is very slick. I slipped and fell (twicked my knee) when playing there earlier this year. I reported it to the cashier twice and then to the club pro twice asking each time that they add some kind of skid strip on it to prevent somebody else from slipping also. I was told on August 26th that the owners of the course did not think it was a safety issue and didn't intend to add any non-slip strips on the bridge. This is a dangerous spot on the course and everyone should exercise extreme caution to prevent injuring themselves.
Unfriendly clubhouse person
The guy who checks you in for your tee times and who you buy the bucket of practice balls was very grumpy. It was told to the person I played with that he is always that way. Now the starter was just the opposite. Very friendly and personable. Loved the coarse for my skill level. I will be back to play soon .
Worst Pace of Play Ever!!!
I have played this course at least 6 times and every time it is slow. Well they definitely up the bar today. They let 3 groups of 6 play together and backed the tee boxes up till we waited 15mins. between each shot. Rangers did nothing to help. I will never golf here again. way to expensive to have a bunch of cranky old people act like they own the place. Do yourself a favor and golf somewhere else.
I love this course, the greens are well taken care of. Fairways are extremely nice, and the rough is groomed. If your tee shot is off a little bit on most par 4s and 5s you'll be in big trouble. Most of the greens are small and have a good amount of undulation. My one gripe is that a lot of the tee boxes aren't flat. There are some holes when you are teeing off your feet can be a good 2-3 inches below or above the ball. This course will definitely test your ball striking.
Fun course to play . Front 9 is ok.. DECENT. Back nine is GREAT!! Par 5 ‘s are fun in that you can score on them. Hold on tight tho for the PAR 3 ‘s ... VERY TOUGH! I have played here twice and the staff is not the friendliest bunch. But in the end I want a well maintained course and layout!
Overall nice course
Course was very well maintained, especially the greens. Average difficulty; the Par 5's were very easy, birdied 3 of them, but some of the Par 3's were tough. Pace of play was good for being crowded. I felt as if I was bothering the pro shop attendant. Not friendly, or even cordial, AT ALL. If the course is nice then I can look past that, but others may not.
Challenging links designed course in SW Ohio
A short to medium length challenging course and good value too. A hidden jewel of a course in the links design and tradition with lots of heather surrounded by hills and farmland in SW Ohio. Your shots must be precise or you'll pay the stroke Gods... The greens are in excellent condition and watch the position of the sun and weave of the grass or your putt will move away from your read. If they really want to make this course tough then they could allow the ruff just off of the fairway to grow to about 6 inches and this would toughen up this already challenging course.
This golf course is a jewel that is excellent for all handicaps
I really had a great experience at Circling Hills. I believe it is one of the best courses in Cincinnati area. I highly recommend it.
