Falcon/Hawk at Pine Knob Golf Club

Nice course we play regularly. A couple of the greens are severely sloped making them borderline unplayable. Stay below the hole!

greens were very bumpy. Think courses should be required to list if they have just aerated.

Course is great unfortunately we played after the greens were aerated so that was unfortunate. We will go back and play again for sure!

The conditions of the course were as you would expect playing early season Michigan golf. Some areas have almost water logged fairways and other spots has the greens rolling like they would on a 80 degree day. Saw the Marshall on the second hole then didn’t see him again, group on front of us didn’t abide by the course policy and looked for balls for 10 minutes times 4 almost every tee shot all 9 holes I played. I paid for 18 holes but the round of 9 holes took 3.5 hours as it was and I wasn’t going to play a 7 hour round of golf.

Played sunday afternoon of labor day weekend. The group ahead of missed their tee time by 15 minutes. So the starter let them go ahead of us. Created very slow pace on the front 9. They jumped they group in front of them at the turn so the back nine was better pace. Course was in great shape. Greens were a little soft, with ball marks throught out. Please fix ball marks people. Other than pace of play on the front 9 it was a good experience. Will play again

Tons of elevation change. Fun layout. Kinda spotty grass in the rough tho, you’ll have bald spots mixed in with 5” rough right by the greens. Super quick greens were good. Bunkers have rocks.

I’ve played Pine Knob more times than I can count on the past 10 years. I think it’s at its best this year. The course is beautiful except Hawk #1 which is lined with condos. (Don’t use driver on this hole). Course conditions are excellent, pace of play runs 4 to 4:30, and the personnel are friendly. The facilities are updated and clean. Unfortunately there isn’t much in the way of clubhouse, however. When you’re done, you leave because the grill area is small and utilitarian. Maybe someday they’ll add some space and character. Even so, this is a very good golf course at a reasonable rate.

Course was in above average shape except for greens. Many ball marks not fixed. Cups looked like they had been in for a few days, lots of damage close to hole. Putting greens do not reflect actual speed of greens.

Staff was prompt to greet us at bag drop and get us set up. After that the starter was quite cranky. Lots of golfers were late (we weren’t), which understandably made him grouchy. There is a level of chill and understanding that would make the first part of the golfing experience better.

I’ll be back and always a little bit early for my tee time. Wouldn’t want to get yelled at. 😀
