Lake Doster Golf Club

Love the layout of this course. Challenging course. However, at least today greens were so slow that it was difficult to putt. Course used to be in better condition, and why don't they have ball washers. Love the track, but it is not what it used to be.

I showed up for my tee time and they tried to charge me an extra $10 cash despite the fact that my reservation through the golf app was paid in full. They said it was a cart fee. The cart fee is included in the booking. The 'Due at course' amount was $0.00. They didn't care. This was a crooked, bogus money grab from a struggling course. In hindsight another golfer said in a review the same thing happened to him, only it was $7 then. I left on principle. I've played this course before and it isn't worth $10 more. It has good bones and I'm sure it was really something about 20-25 or so years ago. It's fallen into disrepair. There are plenty of better scam-free options nearby for the money.

I booked a round at Doster in spite of some of the negative reviews I had read lately. Looks like much effort is being made to restore the course to it's former status. Sand traps all have new sand. Greens were in good shape (except for 1 or 2). Very playable. Senior tees get a huge yardage advantage! Staff was very pleasant to interact with. Like the title says "See For Yourself".

I like the course layout expecting to see lake doster somewere but never saw the lake on the course the lake is north from the Golf Course the staff was friendly only thing I did not like was them adding the cart fee in after you thought that was the total when I bought on the golf now app but was tagged for a additional 13.50 fee no other courses do that on that app that was kinda sneaky but nice course little pricee I may return again someday.

I was very disappointed in the condition of the greens. They were extremely hard surfaces. We heard one person say that the irrigation system was not working. Yet they charged me $60.00 to play. Should have been maybe $30.00 due to the conditions. Also the hot dog we had at the turn was not very good flavor. I will not return to this course, nor will I recommend it to any one to play it.

Played 9 on a beautiful fall day . Got done in an hour and 40 minutes

Course was in great condition.. should have had dinner there it looked good. Went to bay point and disappointed with their new menu. People said food at lake doster was good very enjoyable fall golf

I’ve been coming here a few times a year for 10+ years and this course is in the best shape I’ve ever seen. All the greens are in perfect shape.

Staff was excellent. Course is “good” overall. The greens were 90% and the pin placements were very challenging to say the least. A few greens looked like they got damaged by mowers but only a few. Sand was extremely soft and made it challenging when you were in them. Would surely play again. The holiday weekend was busy. Wish they had an actual starter at tee box.

Overall course layout was pretty cool. The VP pace of play was horrible. Staff allowed multiple 6 and 8 in groups.

We really enjoy this course. At their current price point I don’t really have any major complaints. I would like to see ball washers up at each hole. This is the 3rd time I’ve been this year and the front 9 bunkers are still under repair. Greens were in great condition though. Staff was friendly. Will continue to visit periodically.
