Manchester Country Club

I had an invitation to play this Donald Ross course for the first time so I jumped on it. We played the tips, which at 6700+ on a wet track was a lot for me. The rough is very tough and it beat me up. The greens are the real treat with great undulations and false fronts, that when Stimping around 11 were a joy to putt on. The par 3's are all very long and there are par 4's that are tough to get to in 2. They have cut down hundreds of trees that were overgrowing the original layout and now there is a little more room to shoot through. The 19th hole was a comfortable outdoor setting with great beer and snack options. If you get an invitation to play MCC do not pass it up, it is a true gem that needs to be played.
