Green Knoll Golf Course

Starter is extremely unfriendly. Told us to go to the 2nd tee (because hole 1 was under construction) to tee off. We get to the tee box. There are 3 golfers on the fairway and another 2 waiting to tee off. We had a group of 3. So instead of letting us putt and get settled he told us to go to the tee box 10 minutes early to sit there and wait. Everytime we go there he has an attitude and isnt very welcoming.

Have played this course several times over the years. This was the first time playing Green Knoll this year. I can now see why this Somerset Golf Course always has tee times available. This place is a mess.

The Course had the third tee closed due to construction. Other holes had Green Knoll workers spraying foam on the greens, so we had to wait. Other holes had individuals working around the green and they would not move until they were good and ready or just waved us on to go ahead and hit up to the green. They must provide their workers with great insurance benefits at this course.

After these delays at almost every hole and having to deal with the foursome in front of us having at times at least one or two holes open in front of them, we were told by the "Player Assistant" that we needed to speed up. Our comments back to this "Player Assistant" aka the Ranger was that he needed to tell that to the group in front of us. He just went off on us saying we were not playing fast enough, hitting the ball too many times and should play from the forward tees. He also told us to hit up on the group in front of us to move them along. We were playing from the "blue" tees. I average over 200 yards on my drives. He insisted we play from the forward tees and ran off to yell at the next group behind us.

We ended our round within four hours, even after waiting on almost every hole and decided to discuss the "Player Assistance's" attitude with the individual in the club house. Well, he was a lot of help. After telling him the above, his response was "What do you want me to do about it? I just work here".

Needless to say we will not be playing here again ! Course and Staff are the worst we have ever experienced !!!

Have played this course several times over the years. This is the first time this year. I can see why this course is always available over the other Somerset Golf Courses. The third hole was closed for construction. Maintenance crews were all over the course cutting grass, clipping weeds from around the greens, spraying foam on the greens, etc. The place is a mess. Do they have to do this in the middle of the day. We had to wait several times for these individuals to either leave the area or wave us on when they were good and ready. So on a majority of holes we were either waiting for Green Knoll staff to move or the foursome in front of us to play faster. They averaged at least one or two empty holes in front of them throughout the round. Then the "Player Assistance" from the Green Knoll staff comes by to tell us to play faster and complain about our pace of play. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the group ahead but he just dismissed us and went on to complain to the next group.

After the round we went into the clubhouse to complain about the "Player Assistance" and all we were told by the individual behind the cash register was "What do you want me to do about it? I just work here!".

Needless to say this will be the last time we will be playing at Green Knoll. Don't waste your time here !!!

No place to warm up except to putt. No chipping area , no driving range. The pace of play was slow we waited on most holes until after 9 the Ranger asked the group to speed up that worked for four holes. One hole was completely closed for repairs. It seems to me the course should discount the price a little for that or let you play 1 again.

I have played this course multiple times now. Every time I have played, the clubhouse has told me when I buy a cart, the cart just has to be back by sunset.

Today when playing this course, sunset was at 8:35 PM.

The starter made everyone carting on the course return their carts by 7:50 PM and was extremely rude the entire time.

I would not recommend this course to anyone due to the rudeness of their staff. There are much better courses in the area.

The course was in great shape. There was maintenance around the course. The crew was putting in sprinkler system and replacing grass with sod. It was nice to see the amount of work being done on the course.

As usual with the Somerset county courses the course was in terrific shape

Course is better than an average Municipal course..

The greens fees was $73 w/ cart on a weekday.. that’s very high in my opinion.

Greens were in great shape.

Pace of play was slow.

Staff in the clubhouse was very rude.
