Fox Hollow Golf Club
About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Great track
Always a great place to play excited to play it again!
Always a good round
You know what youre getting at fox hollow. Great conditions for a public course, never had an issue with pace whenever ive played there, and a genuinely fun and challenging layout. Some sloppier greens then most public courses so even though its not a crazy long course its still challenging. Only thing ill say is that peak weekends can get a little pricey on tee times, but you do get what you pay for in this case.
One of my favorite course
The course conditions very nice and green very nice & fast now. The only thing bothered us were the flying bugs. Overall it is one of my favorite course. The staffs always nice and friendly. Recommend!
Still Good
Fox Hollow has changed in some ways over the years, but I was pleasantly surprised. It had been a few years since I played it and it is still a fun play. Short course with a good deal of target golf, but the conditions were better than what I was expecting. They charge too much on their website, but I'd go back for the right price (such as this GolfNow hot deal).
Average course
There are many better courses in the area that are less expensive.
Very slow round, but a very nice and difficult course
We started play at 10:35…our tee time was 10:22. So right off the bat, we’re 13 minutes behind. There were signs everywhere saying keep the pace, that each hole should take you 14 minutes. So why do they make their tee times 10 minutes apart??? Course was in great shape except for one fairway under construction. It’s a very hilly course so keep that in mind. If it wasn’t for a 5+ hour round, I would have given it a higher rating.
Course in good shape
Played in a very light rain . . . Nobody else around . . . Went out early. . . . Course played well . . . Nice relaxing pace . . . Would return again & recommend to others
Kind of scruffy, but a really nice layout and friendly staff
First time playing this course. It's about an hour away and I wasn't really familiar with it. It's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and I think it probably used to be a private club because there is a defunct full lockerroom where the restrooms are. First the bad: It's late summer and it's overgrown. It's been a brutally hot summer, so I get it. If the grass is too short it probably would be fried. But, the greens are slow, the fairways are a little thick, etc. Just kind of scruffy all around.
That being said, the layout is really fun. It's a very hilly course with some great views. Because of the elevation changes it feels like it plays a lot longer than the numbers suggest on the score card. The par 3s are pretty good; I love the 18th.
The staff was really warm. The guy in the pro shop chatted with me for a little bit, and the kid outside cleaning the carts was also very friendly too, If this was (still?) a private club, it would be superb. As it is it's a really decent public option.
Beautiful course and challenge
All staffs very nice and friendly. I always love to play this course .Thank you!
Great course, terrible conditions
Love this course, but was in terrible condition and the round took 5 hours
