About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Terribly slow
Midday,crowded Friday round. Foursome of beginners in front of us that would not allow us to play through despite open holes in front of them. Ranger did nothing to move them along despite signs posted all over warning about pace of play.
Great GC for Intermediate+
This course is perfect for intermediate and advanced players. Friendly staff and easy check-in.
Much improved good conditions
Fox Hollow is an older course. They have cleaned up to course very nicely. Has nice elevations and some unique layouts. Very ice views from course. Greens are a little small and we playing very fast. Very nice round. Would be nice if bar was open for 19th hole but one very close by. Good value

It was great the staff is outstanding!! The course was well maintained and in great shape. The Greens are very tough making each hole a challenge!!

Rude rude rude
I’ve played here 3 times now and each time I’ve gone the staff has been beyond rude to me. First time the ranger repeatedly yelled at my group for pace of play when the group ahead of us was the issue. Second time I arrived 15 minutes early for Monday morning tee time and again received attitude and the person in the pro shop told me “we have been waiting for you.” Third time (today) the starter was gruff and nasty upon arriving. Course is nice, but I will not be playing again.

Course was in great shape. Mowed well including rough. Greeted were excellent and fast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Shout out to Ryan S. He was outstanding!
Pace of play was brutal. 5 hour round. Maybe they shouldn't have tee times 7 minutes apart. Greens fast and sloping, but did not hold well. The rough was worse than a neighborhood lawn.
Local golfer
Staff is extremely friendly. Course is immaculate. Greens are fast. The staff does a great job in keeping up the pace of play. All around a great experience.
Challenging Course
Fox Hollow has a great layout and can be quite challenging. The greens were really difficult and very fast. Pace of play was great as were the amenities. We will be back.
Course conditions
My sympathies to the greens superintendent Course is already burning 🔥 up. Some fairways excellent other just horrible. 😤 Too much it pools and rots, not enough burnout. Tough job. Thanks for doing your best
fast greens
The course was in beautiful shape T boxes look good greens work very fast once you go past the hole it moves. Great burgers had a wonderful day playing.
I wasn’t impressed.
I wasn’t impressed with the layout of the course, very hilly
making it hard to keep your ball in the fairway and the greens.
If you happen to miss a fairway on either side right or left, good luck finding your ball. No first cut, it was fairway then rough, which was about 6” tall… yikes!
When I inquired about getting something to eat after my round. I was told they don’t serve food anymore, what golf course doest serve food, sandwiches etc.
In my option, there are better places to spend my money and enjoy my game of golf… all while getting something to eat afterwards.
OH Boy! Was the starter right!!!
Starter tipped us to stay below the hole. Greens were hard as a rock, above the hole was an auto 3 putt. Holes have nice shapes but the rough was very high. Didn’t see a snack bar ,restaurant was closed.
