Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Lakeview/Clubview Course
About
Water comes into play on six holes on the Lakeview nine at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately an hour from New York City. None is more challenging than the closing hole, a very short -- but very intimidating -- par 3 over water. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1965.

Golfer Reviews
Nice course but slow pace of play
Wanted to play 18 holes but fell victim to dusk and darkness.
Pace of play was awful.
Painfully slow pace, 5+ hours. Group two in front of us had several open holes in front of them and ranger did nothing, even when 3 groups are waiting at the same tee box. Crazy. Would not recommend to serious golfers, would recommend to those looking for long strolls in beautiful scenery while occasionally hitting golf shots.
Review
Very impressed with the course conditions. Fairways were impressive for a public course with so much play as were the greens. Great value for the money
Great staff and course
Even with a week of heavy rain, the course drained amazingly. The course is always picturesque.
Staff helped us out with a booking issue on our part and still got us situated.
I drive an hour without issue for this course and the great people running it.
Beautiful course
Always a pleasure to play here. Course in great shape but pace of play is slow. We love the layout.
Great course
Beautiful view from the beer patio. Rough grass a bit high - lost ball right off the fairway a few times.
Nice course I have played multiple times and generally fun to be there.
Fun round tainted by grumpy ranger.
Fun and very pretty challenging course. Grumpy ranger started to fight with me for no reason while we were on 17 about golfnow not giving the course a dime and how no matter what the course closes at 8pm and how I only paid for 9 and played 18 when I booked 18 on golfnow and somehow the guy gave me a slip for 9 holes which was $8 difference. He was driving up and down the course with zero regard for golfers like he was the president and made a calm place with calm cool vibes tainted.
5 hr Sunday round
Course was cart path only for first 2 holes. Pace of play was terrible.
My Wed tee time...Great day
One of my favorite venues. Have played ther in the early 1990s. I love the course. It was in very good shape. My one disappointment was the hole cups were not clean and edges ragged and damaged. That is not acceptable. Holes should be replaced every day. Please address this. It costs our group a few strokes.
Thank you,

Farmstead Lake/Club
I hadn’t played here in 30 years This was my first round this season LOVED IT playing with it with 2 long time friends that are rookies and a college freshman got my first ever eagle on a Par 4 7th Clubview 9 iron from about 115 yards “extremely excited” 4 pars 1 birdie 1 eagle and way too many double and triple bogeys the course definitely needs more distance markers and pin location
I can’t wait to play again GMAN
