WINTER PARK, Fla. -- The latest story of a municipal course receiving a facelift is in Golf Channel's backyard: Winter Park Country Club, A 100-year-old, nine-hole course, has officially reopened after spending much of 2016 under the knife.
The town of Winter Park invested $1.2 million into the golf course and hired architects Keith Rhebb and Riley Johns to perform the renovation.
While the par-35 course is short, at just under 2,500 yards, they were able to add more character to the layout in a variety of ways, adding new mounding and enlarging the greens among other enhancements.
I spent a fair bit of time on site watching the transformation, and you can view details of the project in this segment from #GCDesignWeek:

If this isn't what fun, inclusive, community golf looks like, then I don't know what does! Family of nine, playing 9. #GrowtheGame #WP9 pic.twitter.com/brPP6NViJs
