Scramble
Played as part of a corporate scramble. The course like many in Nebraska suffered from a very cry winter and a brutal spring. The greens over all were pretty good. number 9 was still patchy. The fairways are coming around and will look better a month from now.
The course has nice wide fairways.
Fun Course
Woodland Hills was a fun course to play..nice elevation changes..course was in good shape..greens were healthy...we had a fun time...i would recommend this course to anybody..def go play it..you wont be disappointed
SLOW PLAY
The course mgmt does not worry about pace of play, they just want as many golfers as possible on the course. From hole 7 to 16 there were 3 groups backed up on each tee box. There was a group of 5 holding everyone up. When we talked to the golf pro he was not very helpful. When we tried to explain there was 3 open holes in front of this group he said he allows groups of this size as long as they don't hold up play, asked him to come out to the course and see how they were holding us up. I doubt he did because nothing changed. Will not be back.
Still a great course
I know that Woodland Hills likes to brand itself as the only 5 star course in Nebraska due to such a rating by Golf Digest a few years ago. That probably is not the case anymore, but the course still has large appeal. I am from Lincoln so it's only about a 20-30 minute drive to get to the course from South Lincoln. It offers a nice change of pace to the courses in Lincoln, and I would say a tougher challenge. The course has much more elevation change tee to green throughout the course compared to Lincoln courses which makes it more challenging.
Whenever I have been out there the course is never overly busy to pace of play is not an issue. That is probably because it is one of the most expensive rounds of golf in Nebraska outside of the destination courses out west. If it's a weekend and you get a cart it will be around $80 to play. Some people wont think that is a huge amount of money if they are out of state, but for Nebraska that is about as much as you will ever pay for golf on a public course.
The staff has always been nice, and while I haven't been through much of the pro shop it looks very nice. The driving range is very nice and a good place to warm up. Same with the practice green. As with all Nebraska courses they can struggle in the summer months if we go without rain for extended periods of time, but the conditions usually remain nice.
short drive
Course has challenging par 3's and wide fairways
BUY ON LINE BEFORE YOU GO
the rates are much cheaper on line than at the counter. They wont give you the online rate at the counter. Lesson Learned.
This course is in really good shape now. Must of healed from the summer. It is such a great design I love being there. I try to play it a few times a year.
The greens were a little too slow for me. But a great lay out and gorgeous in the fall.
The management needs to slow down
We had a foursome golfing decently with smaller groups rushing behind us. The ranger then tell us to hurry.. Idk how you like to golf, but we don't like rushing our game. Rushing causes our game to fall apart and we decide to stop playing 2 holes before the end. For $50/person we were overall very disatisfied. I talked to the staff inside and was quickly ignored. We will not return and don't recommend with course to anyone else.
Not what it used to be
Many of the greens are in really bad shape (bare spots), which wouldn't be an issue if it was $25/round. Given that they are charging much more than that, there's no excuse for the poor greens. Many of the fairways are the same way as well, with burned up grass and bare spots all over.
The lower end courses and city courses in the area are in better shape than this place.
The pace of play was unbelievably slow today (Thursday early afternoon). I've only ever played league here until today, so I am not sure if it is always like that outside of league play, but my buddy and I left after 12 holes because it was taking so long. I golf 8 to 10 times a month and this is the first time in 5 years that I left during a round. It was that bad.
The driving range is nice, but it only matters if you can get the ball machine to work and give you balls, otherwise you have to bother the staff to fix it for you. Why they are still using a coin-op machine is beyond me. Why not just load the balls in trash can at the front desk?
The staff is always friendly. Much friendlier than some of the other places in the area (*cough cough* Hi-Mark, Wilderness Ridge, Highlands *cough cough*). And they have a parrot (yes, a parrot) in the pro-shop for some reason.
Great conditions
Great course.
Great conditions.
Great prices.
This course is a must play in the Midwest!
This course use to be out standing!
I have never played when the course was so below average condition.
Winter kill or fungus on fairways and on the greens.
Cart paths are in need of repair.
Paid $40.00 for senior rate, to high for course condition.
Excellent!
This course was absolutely a great course to play!!! Only reason it didn't all 5 stars on everything is because a couple of the greens were kind of beat up. But overall in my top 5 courses I've ever played.

Horrible Course Conditions - August 2015
I've played Woodland Hills several times (10+ over the last 2 years.) I really like the layout and the location. However, I'm not sure what happened with this course but the course conditions are atrocious. Large sections of fairways are completely dead, huge sections of greens and fringe are also completely dead, and the bunkers are in horrible shape too #some rock hard, some like quicksand#. Greens also #annoyingly) vary in speed from super slow to very fast. Ball dispenser for range balls was broken when we played and we had to wait for an attendant to fix it. He seemed annoyed that he had to do this. Overall, not worth the price and drive unless someone decides to maintain the course.
great course
I have played Woodland lots of times, but the day i played which was a friday, no one was there. and i teed off at noon. nice place and worth the drive from Omaha. please go and play, if you can get the golfnow deal its great.
One of the best courses in Eastern Nebraska
Played here on my Bday. Excellent course. This time of year the weather is cooler and everything in green. Course was well kept and the greens are great. It's a must-play course if you're in Eastern Nebraska or on your way through.
Must play!
Awesome course in grest shape. Many tees for all players. Some very scenic challenging holes. Was fantastic
Great course. Tight front nine.
Really enjoyed the course. This is a nice course in really good condition. Price was a little high for the course in comparison, but fairly reasonable through GolfNow.
Challenging greens!!
Had a great time and enjoyed the challenging greens!
Beautiful Course
Course is still in beautiful shape. You can tell some of the tee boxes may have experienced some winter burn, but recovering well. Greens still roll true. Very few people on the course, so you could play at your own pace. Sand traps were in excellent shape even though there was a lot of rain the night before. Staff has always been friendly.
Nice place
This golf course is always a pleasure to play. Usually windy which makes it a challenge. Greens would be great if people would fix their ballmarks.
