Beechwood Golf Course - Woodland/Creekside
About
Beechwood Golf Course boasts three unique nines: Woodland, Creekside, and Lakeview; that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Opened in 1989, the Woodland/Creekside Course was the club's original layout before it was joined by the Lakeview nine in 1997. It is now the only 27-hole golf course in Darke County. The course starts out playing through dense forest, requiring accuracy to avoid getting lost in the treetops. The seventh hole on Woodland and the third hole on the Creekside nine are particularly notable for their severe dogleg left fairways. Extensive mounding throughout the golf course works in combination with the already hilly terrain to make finding an even lie nearly impossible. To make the course even more challenging, water hazards come into play on 11 holes.

It's all about the greens
I like the course but the greens should all be cut the same. Some were faster and some slower.
Simple Course, Great Price
Played Woodland/Creekside at 1:22 on a Tuesday- 4.2 Handicap
Played front 9 in about 1:10 hours. Played back 9 in about 1:30 hours. There was a 2some holding me up which did not allow me to play through, no fault of the course though. All the recent rain did a number on the rough. Rough was thin but tall with a lot of mud and mowing tracks. Fairways and tees were good. Greens were in excellent shape, albeit slow.
Cost was $23 with cart. Can't beat that, but probably won't be back due to not quite challenging enough for myself and distance is quite far away.
More good value Darke County Golf
Played the Creekside onto the Lakeview. I'll cut the course some slack for the overnight rain which meant the course was sloppy at times with some standing water in places. Otherwise conditions were pretty good outside of some uncontained anthills on 4 and 8 on the Creekside. Greens were soft and a touch slow because of all the rain, bunkers had wet sand with standing water in a lot of them. Layout was a bit of a mixed bag. Plenty of straight forward holes, but there were a few that were very well laid out. The one that really caught my eye was 8 on the Lakeview, a par 3 with an elevated tee with a creek crossing from tee to green (the hole pictured), which could be potentially brutal with a left-to-right crosswind and a far left pin placement. There is an alternate tee which makes the hole parallel to the creek, but the elevated tee crossing the creek is far superior. My buddy and I ended up with a hot deal for $18 a piece, which is absurd value, but even at the typical $35 for 18 holes, it's still very good value. It's certainly worth the trip for the value, and I still lean towards Turtle Creek as being a better course in Darke County, but this place is certainly no slouch
Great value
Extremely friendly staff, off early, quik pace, nothing at all to complain about.
like always good time little windy and wet in some areas .. but you can expect after 9 days of rain...
Great option!
Really enjoyed the course. A good drive to get there, but well worth it. I would play it again. 3 nine hole courses. Try it....you will like it.
Great course for the money!
I booked a hot deal with golfnow, and played this course for $16. The course was in good condition, and had a great pace of play. Course has three different 9 hole courses. All are fun and different styles of play. I will gladly play this course all season long for that price!
All three 9 hole course where in Great shape.
The staff at the pro shop and all the personal we met where very very nice and professional but very happy.l would recommend going and playing any of the three 9 holes. The greens where fast and imperfect shape . The whole course was excellent and be worth playing.
Course looked beautiful!
I have not played here for quite a few years and forgot how nice everything looked. Course was well taken care of, speed of play was good and the gentleman checking us in was very helpful.
Nice course with friendly staff
Very good course layout! Front 9 in the woods needing very accurate drives, back 9 a bit more open. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating.
Nice Course
Great course for the price. Nice layout with three nine hole courses to chose from. All three courses are nice but I find the Lakeview to be the most challenging. Friendly staff as well.
Pleasant Country Style Ambiance.
For the most part it was wide open. Conditioned well. Greens true. My wife and I played in 3.5 hours on a Saturday. No waiting. No pressure from behind. It's what you expect from a country setting. Enjoy!
Beechwood 2016
Decent price for nicely maintained track. Some odd layouts but nice for out in the country place
Course was in great condition
The course was in great condition, which was surprising with all of the rain lately. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Considering the time of year
I haven't played this course in 8 years. It's always been decent but the condition of the course considering the time of year was excellent. It was November 7th and as plush as any course I've ever played. Yea the bunkers were packed down and not freshly raked dut did I mention it was November in Ohio?
Great shape
Course was in good shape. Only downside was it rained a good amount during the night and early morning round there was some standing water but still good shape
