Sweetbriar Golf Club - Legacy 18

About
Located in Avon Lake, Sweetbriar Golf Club boasts two scenic 18-hole courses that are routed through natural wetlands and forests. The front nine of the Legacy Course was built in 2002 and the back nine was added in 2007. The nines have different landscapes, creating a diverse set of holes that will have you using all the clubs in your bag. The front nine has a links design with winding fairways and large greens while the back nine was carved from forests. With natural wetland areas and a number of interesting risk-reward par 5s, the back of the golf course has more of an east coast feel. The other 18-hole course at Sweetbriar was built in the 60s. It is shorter than the Legacy but is still challenging, which makes it great for beginners.

Great coarse!
This was my 1st time here and I loved it. The coarse was in great shape for mid November. We will definitely be back!

Legacy In desperate need of repair
Fairways wrought with divots. Greens wrought with ball marks. 18 holes of neglect. Wouldn’t mind at half the price. In past course has been great. Could still be great. Not sure what the problem is. Probably supply chain issues.

Slow Round
Extremely slow round. 4 group back up on the 3rd hold. A few groups in front of us were scrambling and it still took over 4:30hrs for 18 holes. Waited on every tee shot on every hole. Will not be back for some time. 7 minutes apart on tee times is lunacy. I realize everyone wants to maximize profits, but that's simply not enough time between groups. Rangers do nothing to improve pace of play. If you want to play in a reasonable amount of time, play elsewhere.

Fantastic Course!
I've never played this course before, my girlfriend told me about it so I figured I'd check it out. I ended up buying her dinner last night b/c her recommendation was perfect. Upon entering the pro shop, the staff was friendly and pointed me in the right direction. The driving range was nice, lots of target to choose from between lob wedge to driver. As for the course, I was amazed not only how great of condition it was in but the views, the layout, the challenges (bunker, hazards, rough and pin placement). Loved the course, can't wait to play again in 2024 when I come back to Ohio.

Very nice course
I play this course several times throughout the year, the pace of play typically is slow. The course itself is usually in really good condition, greens roll true and hold your approach shots. I think it’s one of the better public courses on the west side of Cleveland.
