Knoll Run Golf Course

About
Knoll Run Golf Course is a challenging 18-hole layout in Lowellville. Don't let the seemingly mild yardage fool you. This course may only be 6,400 yards but there are plenty of challenges in store. Water comes into play on several holes and there are a number of tricky doglegs throughout. One prime example is the par-4 14th, which doglegs in a nearly 90-degree angle to the left. Stands of trees line the fairways as well, but perhaps the biggest challenges on the course are presented by the greens. The subtly contoured surfaces are made even tougher with the addition of strategically placed bunkers. Knoll Run Golf Course's back nine is slightly longer and more difficult. It's a fair but fun test that's not overly demanding and players of any skill level can appreciate the affordability of this public golf course.

Too crowded
The course was in good shape. The front was rather simple but backed up terribly. A five min wait on every tee. At no.8 tee there were four groups waiting to tee off. Did not play the back because of the slow play. Knoll run would not refund my money I will never play there again and will advise all my friends not to play there
Great Course
Course is in excellent condition and one of my favorites to play.
Really Nice local Course
Played on a Monday morning..7:15..Staff pleasant and professional. Course in excellent shape. Scoring not overly difficult. Most holes forgiving but there is enough trouble to punish really poor shots. One of ,my favorite "older" courses. Good kitchen..nice bar/lounge/outdoor patio areas.
Knoll Run
Course in good shape and challenging. Will play again someday.
Love the Course
The staff is one of the friendliest and most helpful staff that I have ever golfed at. The course has a nice layout. Kept in very good condition.
greens
the greens are the hardest to play on the hole course always be in front of greens all greens are down hill from any other area of the greens
The course is average.
Management does not address issues with "Hold up".
Love this course
Love playing here by myself or with others. Friendly and always in good shape!
Above average condition for early in season.
Make your move on front. A good score is possible most holes are short and playable. Back nine much more difficult.
Greens are trickier and holes are longer. A good c ourse for seniors and mid to high handicaps. Close to town-and friendly management
Darned Good Course
This has become our "home" course. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape (although the greens were just aerated!). Club selection off some tees comes into play a few times - you can't always grip it & rip it. The staff treats us like friends, and the restaurant is as good as the course!
Knoll Run
The greens had been aerated and sanded so putting was unreliable
A decent course close to a major metro area.
Knoll Run is a typical public course near a metro area. It is normally a little pricey, (look for a hot deal rate), designed for fast play with minimal bunkering and low rough. Course is very flat, with decent, but slow, greens.
Nothing spectacular here, just a good place for a round of golf
What a gem
Knoll Run is a terrific course. The greens were awesome. They rolled so well and were quicker than average. Fairways rolled nice and the rough was tough but you could still find your ball. I would play this course every day if I could.
This course was in great condition
The course was in great shape. The fairways were very nice and the greens were fast. The pace of play was slow on the front nine, but it was good on the back nine.
Hot Deal on GolfNow is worth it
I live close to this course but I don't play it that often because its usually pretty slow and its painfully short. I had some time to kill and spotted the hot deal for $10 and booked it. As usual, the front nine was pretty slow but when I got to the back, there wasn't a soul on the course. The fairways were just aerated but the greens were still decent and I would say the course is pretty well maintained. If you get any kind of distance off the tee, you might find that a lot of holes play the same and if you like using all the clubs, you might want to play from the tips.
Note there are no sand traps
Club house has a nice menu and a bar. No golf pro shop. Couse is in nice shape. Play can get jammed up especially in the early afternoon hours.
Very Playable!
A very nice layout that is not overwhelmingly difficult however you do need to keep the ball in play on each hole. This course was a pleasure playing and I will come back again!
perfect greens
one of my favorite courses in the Mahoning valley. some of the nicest greens around, and the fairways were very good. Great value for seniors. They also have a great bar - resturant for after golf.
Recommeded
My group plays this course often. So my review may be tainted. We travel 3 times a week so we see many different courses, This course isn't Augusta but its easy to get to, it offers just enough challenge to make you think. It has water, sand, trees, rough, and very playable greens. The value is great and it offers everything that similar courses charge much more to play. The grill rooms food is great ( I brought my wife here for dinner). WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMED THIS COURSE TO ANYBODY IN THE AREA OR TRAVELING THROUGH.
This is the Knoll Run Golf Course management. Friday 7/29 was a very busy day at Knoll Run and we understand that pace of play was slow. It is not our policy to ever have a customer walking away unsatisfied, nor without compensation for a round not played. If you could call 330-755-2499 and ask for Jenny or Bill we would like the opportunity to make it up to you.
