Old school parkland style course is great
Great parkland style course with just enough hills, trees and obstacles to keep it interesting yet fair. A good score can be had by keeping the ball in play. Second shots around the green are safe; greens and pin placements easily accessible.
Fairways (bent grass) were mowed nice and tight, greens, (bent) held balls nicely and were a bit quicker than normal for the area. Greens were also tough to read. They only LOOK flat! Now that the course has dried out a bit (NE Ohio spring rains, ugh!) drives rolled out nicely. Front nine is more open, back nine has some doglegs, a lake (#16, I believe) and demands better shot-making skills. #18 is the 'signature hole' on the course. It's a WAY downhill par-3 that plays 110-140 yards depending on pin placement on a narrow, but very deep green. You can easily make par ... or a SIX on this hole.
Overall, nice people staff the clubhouse, the course is well-kept and offers a very enjoyable round of golf. I'll play there again.
Great course in great shape
Always a pleasure to play. They take care of the course and the staff is superb.
still learning
this course challenges all parts of your game, the greens were extremely fast, so long putts were very challenging to say the least, overall all of the course was in great shape for this time of the year, again i thankyou for the great, will deals you provide
will definatley play there again, i fully recomend this course
Nice
great place cant wait to play again !
great course
spring golf greens a little slow but in past course is always in good condition a challenge to play!
Definitely worth it
We've played this course several times this year. Even during the hit summer days, the course was in great condition. You can always see the grounds crew working to improve it. They have some challenging holes with blind shots and a few sloping fairways. Where you need to know your distance. You can't just grab your driver and bomb away.
A couple of times we played 3 rounds and the staff was great and gave us an even better deal for the second round. We really enjoys playing there and we will be back for sure this year and for years to come.
Great experience.
Ridge Top was in really great shape - especially when compared with so many local courses that burned out during our recent heat wave. The staff, as always, was friendly and welcoming - they always seem glad to see you. We had a great time on a beautiful day, and will definitely see you again before the snow flies!
Good Time
We hooked up with a single on the back nine and had a lot of fun The course has a lot of neat holes so not an up and back.
Will definitely play again. My buddy and I live about 50 min from course but worth the drive.
This course has special meaning
My brother and I played together at Ridgetop, where our father worked on the grounds and also played with ihis best buddies twenty some years ago. This course has always been well taken care of with just enough challenges to make your round interesting. I used to play regularly with my best buddies and my brother has had several outings wth his best buddies.
Great value
If you like a little more challenging course this is it. There are a number of left dog legs, so for us right-handed hitters who slice and fade it can be interesting. The undulating greens also make putting more fun. So if you're looking for something a little different this is the course
Top of the town
Ridge Top was in great condition. The pace of play was fast. Golfers on the course were friendly and allowed me to play through, as I was a single. Greens
were fast and rolled true. Staff was a pleasure to deal
with.
Challenging but Fair
Course is in great shape. Interesting layout and the greens were fast and undulating. I'll definitely be back. We were one of the first to tee off so we got through the first 9 in under 2 hours but they put a couple of groups off on 10 before we came around and slowed the pace significantly. Finished in just over 4 hours but it could have been better.
Good Value/Nice Greens
Nice course for the deals you can get. Greens were in nice shape and fast. Very slopey so be careful because you can have two different breaks on the same hole depending on where you are on the green. Short course even from the blues with a lot of doglegs. Staff very friendly. Great hot dog at the turn however I wanted a tuna sandwich but they were out of tuna. Which reminds me, why don't courses pre-make and refrigerate sandwiches so we don't have to wait for an hour or just get a hot dog, which we don't want ?
Ridge top, Medina
First time there. Had a good round. I will be back in the spring when grass is a little greener.
Love/Hate Relationship
This course is beautiful and the staff is great. From the tee you need to be on point all day as there are really tight tee shots on just about every single hole! The first time I played, we had just gotten a lot of rain so the fairways were nice and soft and easier to hit. The second time I played we were on a little bit of a dry spell so that made hitting fairways considerably tougher. Then to add to the toughness of the course, your approach shot is the most important because getting close to these pins is about as tough as you will find in the area. Then when you get on the green you will experience the most undulated, fast, sloped greens which make for a tough day putting. Even if you stick a wedge or an iron shot to inside 10 feet there are no guarantees. For a fairly experienced golfer like myself I enjoy challenges like this on occasion but I would not recommend playing this course if you are trying to score or you are a beginner. Having said that, the course is beautiful!!!!!
Beautiful scenery
Shorter course but makes up for it with some tricky greens. Can't wait to play in the fall
Great course for the money.
It was fast and easy. Nice course, in great shape! People were very friendly and inviting. Had a great time.
