Everything was great as usual it’s a great course and all the hard work done by the course has been greatly appreciated
Fun Course reestablishing their identity
One of the best days deals in golf. This was my first time playing here. They are renovating the entire course and fixing their previous owners errors. The fairways are nice and wide open the greens are nice, but fast. Overall I had a great time and am definitely planning on going back.
Bazar day of golf on a beautiful day...
Bazar day of golf on a beautiful day...I don’t usually write reviews. Extremely slow pace of play and no golf etiquette w/ the matched two-some. After 3,5 hours playing 9 holes, the twosome matchup plus the constant sound of gun fire from the local range we had enough and called it a day. Waiting 10 to 15 minutes between holes was very frustrating and the twosome not playing as a foursome was bazar. We had to constantly wait for the two foursomes ahead us, watch the twosome we were supposed to be playing with and then watch out for incoming drives from the foursome behind. Poor golf etiquette. As for the positives, you can see that the new owners are putting money into course. Tee boxes next spring should be great. Greens were in good shape...very fast. Nice course layout. We may go back one day during the week as we would like to play the course under normal conditions.
Hidden Gem
It's the rare course that is not lined with townhomes and residential encroachments. This hidden gem is surrounded by thick wooded area through the green. The greens, having been aerated and tended carefully this summer, are in good condition. They are occasionally protected by a fish pond or two and the par 3's make an effort to sport 'sand' traps. I was there the day that they (previous owners) dumped the chopped coral shells in the sand traps. This material is not regarded well by any players , myself included- takes a little getting used to- best to steer clear.
Think about walking here. It is a walking game after all. Carts are on their last leg, that's if you can get one. I imagine that there is a collection of 'dead soldiers' waiting repair somewhere out of sight. It's an extra $10 for a solo ride, pandemic not in existence at PGC, apparently.
If you are a golfer that has trouble staying dead straight or at least in the fairway, make sure that you bring a few extra sleeves of balls. The leaves are thick and fluffy- all 300 billion of them. Tree lines are leave lines and that's a gone ball. Pace is slow when golfers can't accept a lost ball. Pace of play depends on the handicap and the determination of searchers.
The greens fees are between $30 and $45 get it while you can. New owner and plenty of improvements are underway. Almost certainly the greens fees will shoot up come the spring. So $50-$75 wouldn't surprise me. The new owner and therefore the staff that he selects are usually always smiling. There was one inexplicably grumpy ranger, but that's not uncommon, now is it? Interesting layout. Good challenging greens. Great value. On the ascendancy. I'd say go play- if not here somewhere -and try walking!
Cant wait for spring
Course undergoing many changes with new owners, looks like it will be one of my favs next year.
As far as playing this time, FALL won. .way too many leaves all over.. When you lose multiple balls in the fairwaya because of leaves its tough.. Not the courses fault, but it definitely wrapped me up for the season.
This golf course is in the most amazing condition. They have done so much work on the course. The seeding process was done like a professional and the grass is so thick and green. They make a great effort to maintain the leaves at this time of year. I travel 23 miles to play there and I love it.
Our tee time was 11:48 didn’t tee off till 12:15, when there was no frost delay on a beautiful fall day there needs to be a better attention given to keeping the tee times accurate
Leafy
Tee boxes from the whites are in terrible shape. The center fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Any ball hit to the tree line will be lost. The leaves are piled up along the entire course. I will come back during the summer to give this course another try.
Fall golf. So there were a lot of leaves in the course. It is obvious there has been a lot of good work done on this course recently. Tee boxes are closed. Seed has started growing in and looks good. Greens got aerated today. The grounds keeper rolled them afterward resulting in decent speed and true roll outs. Greens and fairways are looking very good for the price paid. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. I’ll definitely return and recommend to others.
Great Greens
Fairways and greens in great shape; in fact the greens were as good or better than any course I have played all year. Temporary tees, and a bit of a leaf problem. Slow pace of play.
Enjoyed
The course was in great shape today except for the leaves on the greens?
Overall I had a great day i shot a 84
Slowest play ever
I deceided to give this course another try since my last outing was a nightmare. This time was just as bad. The pace of play was disappointing. It took over 4 hours just to play 12 holes then I deceided to give up at that point. Don't understand why the pace of play was so bad on a weekday. I do have to say the course conditions were better since the last time. Its a bargin price but I won't be back
