Nice Course, lots of work being done to improve the Course
I haven't played this course for a long time, but was very pleased with what I saw. The greens were in great shape and there is new grass growing everywhere. New owners took over and the place is looking great!
Bees everywhere, fairways barely had grass
Wouldn’t play here again. First 4 holes had bees imfesting the entire hole from tee box all the way through the fairways. Fairways throughout the course barely had grass, found myself hitting out of dirt In the middle of the fairways. Overall not great.
Course undergoi g improvement so temp t boxes shorten course...no carts in farways makes for longer walks to ball if of fairways...easyer to find wayward balls in woods as debri being cleared...should b an awesome course when grown in next year..
Pinelands Golf Course - I like the improvements
The course has some challenging holes, including holes no. 6 and 13 in my opinion, and overall is a really good course to play. Improvements to the clubhouse were completed and when we played, they were performing maintenance to the tee boxes. I like seeing the investment in the golf course as it shows the commitment to the golfers who play Pinelands, and they will keep coming back.
Great value
I will be taking advantage of the senior Tuesday and everyone Wednesday specials
terrible course
the only reason i gave it 2 stars was because the staff were very nice. I see they might be trying to upgrade the course but it is the worst course I ever played on. many greens were bald ad burnt. there was no grass on any of the fairways and their roughs. the tee boxes were just a section in the rough with the grass being 3 or 4 inches long REALLY. no restrooms except in the pro shop which wasn't close to course. did I mention the gigantic pot holes or the non- existing tar paths.
Rough Course
Where do I begin? First, the bad. The course is in terrible shape. 17 of 18 holes have temporary tee boxes. This is understandable, they are trying to improve the existing boxes. When you see them, you are going to question why you can't hit off of them. They are ready to go. Almost all the fairways are bare. Mud or hard pan. Very little grass. Rough was in good shape and preferred to hit out of rough than fairway. Sand traps are filled with a terrible trpe of sand that is composed of little pebbles. Greens are ok at best. The carts are not responsive and you think they are dying when driving them.. Now, the good. Apparently it was sold and the new owners are really trying to improve the place. The course has an awesome layout and has great potential. They have a nice snack area at the turn and the clubhouse is very nice. Alot of picnic tables outside....I assume for dining, but never stopped to see if they had food. Employees were very nice. They are military/law enforcement friendly which I love. Finally, they are not overpricing the round. It's a fair price for the conditions. Look forward to playing this course next season.
New and improved!
Always wanted to play at Pinelands, but never made it there until now, and I’m glad I waited. The old course and management or gone, and now a new golf course has taken its place. New pro shop, outdoor seating and dining, and a bar are a great place to hang post round and although the course is under transformation, it’s still challenging. Go play and see for yourself!
Don't waste your time and money course under repair conditions temporary tee boxes and reseeded fairways plus over booked tee times left after 12th hole, couldn't take it any longer (actually saw 3 foursomes playing the same hole that's when I bailed out and left)can't stand playing 5 plus hour rounds!
Good potential, but not worth it right now
There's active work going on right now since the new owners bought it. Hoping next year it will be a quality course, and there's a good chance it will be. For now, the fairways feel more like mud, making you happy when you don't actually hit the fairway. For 2020, just go elsewhere.
Rough Track
I chose this coarse due to what seemed to be a good price and the fact I was able to get on in short notice. The coarse condition was as bad as I have seen and I was hitting off dirt In the fairway most of the time. Friendly staff and accommodating, but something is awry on the coarse. I would like to go back when it is in better shape, because they seem like nice folks trying to revive the track.
Disgraceful
I usually don’t write reviews but.... wow I’ll just keep this simple it’s not even about waste of money as waste of time... this is NOT golf , Each hole worst then the last totally shot .... this is not weather it is over play and poor care.......no cart path to even keep people on.... the best was the sign on the 3rd hole touting new grass ...... ONLY grass on the whole F&$”@$&@ property.....sorry for being so harsh but if I can spare one person from wasting their time on this cow pasture btw is disrespectful to cow pastures evr
Hope new ownership improves the course
This course may have been used to hold a monster truck rally the wk before we played. No such thing as a fairway. Tee boxes were under construction so had to tee off from the crabgrass/dirt every hole. I will say the greens were well kept. So if you can hit every tee shot to the green you’ll do just fine and enjoy it.
Trying to improve
Since back nine was being aerated, had to play front nine twice. Problem was , front 9 was recently aerated so conditions were not good. Disappointed that I had to pay an additional $10 above advertised price to get my own cart since I wanted to be social distanced from my golf partner. New owners are putting effort in improving course conditions. Had a Musician playing a guitar outside the clubhouse in the early evening which was a nice touch.
That time of year
It’s that time of year for the Pinelands. Greens are ok, fairways are rough and some tee boxes are non existent. I play here often and will continue to come back. I’ve played here for 25 years and at the end of summer the course has difficulty with the grass. Staff are always excellent and personable. Maybe should be discounted in August until the fall grass comes back in.
Solid course which is going to be great soon
This course is really solid. The course is pretty wide open due to the new owners removing over 800 trees. With the new ownership and all of the improvements going on this course will be great sooner than later. The price is great too. I highly recommend it.
Disappointed
Played here in 2018 and it was so so then. Heard it was under new management and improvements were happening. Staff also said same. Tee boxes were mostly hard packed dirt. Fairways poor, greens fair. Overall undesirable in this condition.
