Course Now Closed
Traveled to play this course as I heard it was closing. Sad that they closed this course down. Course had great views, huge elevation changes and a decent layout.
One last time
Getting out for one last time before the course closes forever. Beautiful scenery and challenging greens.
This course is a very tricky challenge. No matter the skill level of golf you are, this place will push you to the limits. If you’ve never been I advise you to go. The course will be indefinitely Closed after September.
Played in 3.5 hours. Greens and tees in great shape but fairways a little burnt up, as expected. Friendly staff and great value. Too bad it is closing.
A lasting impression
This is the last year that Shawneewill be open to play. It was nice to get out there again, the view was beautiful, the course was difficult and the day was great.
Gonna miss mountain Golf in Cincy
Sad this beauty is going by the wayside. Its mountain golf in Cincinnati and shot placement at its finest.
Sadly, this place is shutting down. It was my first time playing it and it was a fun challenge with all of the hills and blind shots.
Very Sad End to a Nice Course
The State of Ohio exhumed this course for one more year without actually spending any money. The State should be ashamed of what they have done to a nice course. This is a nice layout right on the Ohio River.
They are mowing the fairways narrower to save mowing dollars.
Bunkers are like rocks
Staff are doing their best in a bad situation.
I want some of my tax dollars to keep this course up to snuff. Come on Ohio. This course is worth keeping the way it should be.
To bad this course is closing in September .The reason they tell me was (not enough play ) will play it a few more times before it closes
Greens, fairways, t-boxes were in great shape.
Course is short, but slopes of the greens and narrowness of fairways make this challenging.
I really liked this course, except the double dog-leg par 5. Sloping Hills made this a very pretty course
Challenging but fun
This course will test your place patience but it is very fun. The reward of hitting your irons straight is high. Greens are usually in good condition. It is a great value for your money! I have played here several times and when the course is cut, it really plays well.
This is a municipal course?!?
This is by far one of the nicest public courses I've ever played, let alone one managed by the city/county. Price was a little above average but being the 4th I wasn't surprised. Pace was slow, very slow at times, but again, for a holiday that's to be somewhat expected. The conditions and layout are superb! The front is tight and challenging, but the back opens up a bit and scoring opportunities are more available. I'm from Georgia and this course rivals many private clubs I've played in the south. The staff were all very knowledgeable and super friendly. The city should be proud.
This review was NOT meant for Shawnee, but for California Golf Course in Cincinnati, OH. I've never pleasured Shawnee.
