Nice little course. We will go back
My husband and I travel this stretch of road fairly frequently traveling back and forth from Ohio to Michigan.
Saw this course and decided we would break up our trip and stop and play nine holes. We enjoyed it and the staff was super friendly. We made another tee time for our next time through. We will play the full 18 holes on that trip.

The course was amazing. Greens tees ponds landscaping were beautiful. Staff were great. Playing again Saturday

Get on this course and play you won't be disappointed!
Fair/poor
2:28 tee time is not a good hot deal time! They want you to hurry along so you don't interfere with leagues that start at 4:00. Then you get behind slow groups . This course has went through several owners and cant seam to get it right. This course is a 20 $ course on a good day! I will not pay full price to play here.

Always play here because it is my hometown course. Very nice layout with enough challenges to keep me coming back.
Great Local Course
Great Course to play on around Van Wert. Only thing keeping me from 5 stars was the lack of greens keeping. This is understandable because I went to golf in March! Most amenities areunavalable in the pre season.

just work on your game
If you want to work on your golf game play it for the price on golfnow. Can't work on your sand traps game there never take care of them (drop area). fairways are ok . The ruff needs Herbicide Crabgrass Broadleaf Grassy Weed Killer. Course is down hill and could use a green keeper to just work on sand traps. At one it was nice and great to play. But for $14.21 price with cart live with it. PS Please get a GPS to help you play quick and stop looking for yard markers very few on Course
Against the Odds
Amazing after getting 6+" of rain for the third time in a month that this course was open. There were signs of where water had laid and some small patches still with water laying. Greens were in good condition.

Friendly staff. Lots of rain more than likely led to long grass fairways.
Nice Layout
Course was fairly nice, fairways were maintained well and greens were true. Tee boxes were pretty thick which made par 3's tough to hit clean. Overall was well worth the value.
Hickory Sticks Mounds
Hickory Sticks Championship course and the Mounds are not distinguished on the golf discount sites. We were assigned to the Mounds and the grass was long, there was an excessive amount of clover and if you got off of the fairway, it was extremely difficult to find your ball.

The course was in great shape, greens weren't to fast or slow. Good value.
3rd nine not worth playing, otherwise decent.
We were unable to play the back 9 because of a league, so we were sent to a 3rd nine which was in poor shape. One green had about a hundred little insect hills cropping up and the greens would not hold a shot despite being slow. In general, this relatively new nine was poorly designed and is not very interesting to play.
The old front nine was fine. The new owners are working hard to bring this course back, and it is improved over several years ago.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating.

Although the course received alot of rain prior to playing it,the overall conditions of the 27 hole golf course were in extremely great shape. This is definitely a place you need to come and play. The staff is very friendly and very good at what they do.
