Plenty of ice and water on the course, cooler on the cart with bottled water and towels
There was no GPS system in the cart and there was no map of the holes on the score card. This was my first time to play this course. Did not see a course marshal at any time during the round. The foursome in front of us was at least 2 holes behind the twosome in front of them! We waited on every t-box and this was a Monday! A course marshal could have assisted this issue.
Well kept and overall difficulty level low
When you think of Oaktree you think of tucked in shirts and a typical country club vibe, not the case. Everyone is laid-back, including the staff, we had the radio going in the cart and the drinks were steady. Course wise it's not the most difficult but it is very well laid out and the greens are always excellent. Fairways are fairly wide and built for 300 yard drives. The facilities make you feel like one of the pros and so do the price tags at the clubhouse.
Nice private course. Fast greens
Ive played the East course numerous times. Fun and challenging. You can tell Pete Dye designed it to make golfers think about their tee shots. Course and greens are both in excellent condition. Staff was very friendly and beverage cart met us several times on back and front nines. They are doing a lot of work on the clubhouse and I look forward to seeing the finished product. I would highly recommend this place if you get a chance to play.
Preferred over Oak Tree East
I actually prefer the West course over the East. Its a little easier with some bailout areas for wayward tee shots. The course and greens are in great shape. The clubhouse is getting upgraded and still under construction but very nice facilities. I cant wait to see the finished product.
