Nice course
Course is nice with some interesting holes. Our only issue was the layout is hard to follow with just the scorecard. There were a few holes where we had to use our gps to find out the actual layout and distance to hazards that should be on the scorecard or at the post at each tee box. Other than that the course was great. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new course to try out.
Very selfish players
Two players, talking so much time video taping their playing and slowing the whole teams behind them. they were aware of all other teams waiting and waiting for them to move ahead. And there was no ranger at all to get this players to either play faster, not to video tape, nor yield. So slow and so bad.
Course in general needs lots of works to call it a golf course.
Some greens were severely damaged, unplayable, some courses were disrupted with big dig holes, fairways do not have good grasses. Overall this golf course needs lots of improvement to be called a golf course.
Nice course
Course was in pretty good shape considering all the rain we have had lately. Greens had been recently cut, which didn't help balls to roll true. Didn't stop the greens from being fast as usual..
Confusing, illogical course layout/ routing
I have played Sunset Ridge many times over the years though, admittedly it has been 2 or 3 years since I last visited. That said, the course layout has not improved. Many holes overlap with the previous and/ or next hole necessitating backtracking to the next tee box. There are multitudinous trails that never seem to be the one you want. There are no signs that direct you to the next tee. It is a shame because the course was in great shape aside from some washed out areas of cart path and rough teeing areas. The pace of play was great; almost no wait anywhere. Green were decent and fairways were very good.
If the paths were cleaned up, tee boxes groomed, and some signage directing you from hole to hole installed, I would be a much more frequent visitor! I really do like the course!
Tough greens
Always like playing this course. Nice layout, with a few tough holes. Greens are challenging, fast and undulating. Only real complaint are the cart paths, ruts and large stones.
Front of Clubhouse looks closed, overgrown with weeds, Tee boxes were bad, bare patches, just normal grass like in your yard, carts were slower than usual. Wouldn't have paid more than $30 for a round here.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Sunset Ridge Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
A step in the right direction
This course is suffered through several different changes in ownership, with many previous owners neglecting the course. The new owners have done a good job with correcting the missteps that prior owners had taken which brought the course down a notch. I play this course frequently and enjoy the course itself, but there is a serious issue with the pace of play. Nearly every time I have played the course, there is a group playing slow and holding up everyone behind them. The course does not have starters or Marshalls, but needs them desparately to help speed up the pace of play.
Some of the earlier employees were not so friendly and were telling us we had to be off the course at a certain time, because they didn't want to stay late, but only after we had already paid for our round.
I also find it dishonest that the course charges more for walk-ins than they do for those who book a tee time. It's easy enough to book a tee time from the parking lot but it's a hassle that doesn't exist at any other golf course I've played.

First time playing
First time playing, while there was a charity event happening the pro shop advised me to use the green that was not in use to warm up. There's been plenty of rain in the area this week but tee boxes were solid along with the greens. Very happy it was not cart path only. Quite a long course with very challenging greens, but the people I was paired up with advised me well along with the staff. Great experience, good craft beers, would suggest this course to anyone looking for a good golf experience.

Interesting that your one star review is surrounded by 4 and 5 star reviews. The course is getting a half million dollars in upgrades, and under construction so they must be doing something right. Plus you are from Marcellus and bashing a successful local business...real nice. I give you a 1 star review!
