I loved it
While I’ve only been golfing around 5-6 months, I’ve been to at least 7 different courses. 1 of them being Wintercreek Golf & Country Club. Another one being in a very rich neighborhood in Southlake, TX. I don’t see why there are so many bad reviews. I came here alone and met another single player who asked if I wanted to play with him so I said yes. There was about a 20 minute wait for a cart. Which wasn’t a big deal at all considering the price. The course wasn’t anything crazy but I’ve definitely payed a lot more money for worse. The Tee boxes were in good shape, the fairways were in good shape, the greens are a little slow, and the cart was included. Well worth $23. The lady and the man who work at the club house are the nicest people you will ever meet. They’re doing a great job with what they have and it’s irritating to see so many bad reviews when you should’ve known by the price that this wasn’t going to be a country club. There’s no beer but they have gatorades and waters. And they don’t overcharge for them like other club houses do. I’ll definitely be back.
An absolutely great value for what it presents.
Pace of play is decent to great depending on when you go. The fairways and rough are very playable and offer challenges to the high to mid handicap, while still being enjoyable. Island greens, water and trees are almost always in play, plus the added hazard of apartments and cars. Greens as of right now are less than desirable, but they aerated 3+ weeks ago so its to be expected. For the value, it's a great course. I highly recommend as a course to practice different shots, or to have fun with friends. Weekends can create a wait time, but 2 weeks ago I only had to wait 45 mins, plenty of tike to get ready and use the putting green.
Awesome course!!!
Loved playing this course! I’ll be back for sure! Greens were pretty good and I love the first 3 holes… really puts you to the test to start! And a total steal of a deal on GN
Not managed well
Poorly managed and not enough carts. Had to wait 30 minutes after tee time for a cart. Greens were aerated which most are at this time.
When we got to the course for our scheduled tee time they informed us we woulf have to wait to get a gof cart and that there were 4 other groups in front of us and couldnt tell us when we would be able to tee off despite us having a tee time. We decided to leave and will not be returning.
Value time
The course was unfair to good shape. There were groups of five and six golfers both in front and behind me that slowed pace immensely. There were no Marshalls and the golfers ahead were inexperienced and would not let me play through. I suggested they break into two groups and play would go much quicker. They were just having a good time and didn't care about the pace of play. The course wasn't good shape. This is a good course if you typically would like to finish around fairly quickly and are able to walk on for a good price.
Carts Galore!!
The Links has all new carts, so be it’s going to be hopping all spring/summer. The staff is awesome and the play was great!! I will definitely be back again and again! You can’t beat the courtesy of the staff. We are lucky to have such a cool course so close. My only issue ever with this course has always been lack of carts. The staff has always been very apologetic about it, I always felt bad they had to deal with not having any carts. Now that the new carts have arrived, you would be hard pressed to find anything wrong with this course. Great People!!
Fun time
Really enjoyed this course. 9 holes only. Is kind of difficult for beginners at times. But great time
NO CARTS….AGAIN!!!
Booked this course for the 2nd time and AGAIN had no carts available. I should have expected this by reading the reviews. Don’t waste your time and money. Book elsewhere.
Cannot recommend
I’ve played Links OKC probably a dozen times and unfortunately I don’t think I can recommend it anymore. The Hot Deal makes it really hard to pass up but the last 3-4 times I played there there were 0 carts available (even though it was supposed to be included). The greens look like they’re infested with something, overgrown spots from a different type of grass and spots that are flat out dead and just dirt. The bunkers are hard packed and appear to be dirt instead of sand, the bunker on 4 (par 5) is practically unplayable and I drop anytime I’ve ended up in it. The fairways aren’t terrible but the grass usually goes dormant pretty early.
Never any carts
Love this course, but they never have any carts. If they just didn’t advertise that the greens fees came with a cart, it wouldn’t be a problem. Very frustrating
Not bad for an apartment course
Tucked in the middle of an apartment complex, The Links was an enjoyable experience for the money.
Pros: Decent course conditions, especially after a week of rain; few water hazards, especially after the first few holes; easy course to walk - good trails.
Cons: Can be hard to get a cart at your tee time; tight fairways (which isn't necessarily a con).
If your used to playing municipal courses, especially the city's 9-hole course, then The Links will be a good experience.
