Course has improved
This course is in great shape
Unprofessional
Can't stand this place. Staff was rude and unprofessional. Won't be coming back
coming along nicely
the newest ownership group has really put time and energy towards improving this course and it shows.
everyone, even the members(other players) were very friendly. great service abounds and the fairways and greens are in great shape. keep up the great work guys!!!
Course conditions
I have played Surrey Hills for over 20 years and I have to say this course is in the best condition I have ever seen it. Great job to the staff at Surrey Hills.
Surrey Hills much improved
Compared to what it used to be former Fairfax club pro Jeff Freeman has vastly improved Surrey Hills. In good shape.
Surrey Hills
Golf Now was great with no problems.
The course is in good shape except for the sand traps. The design is with small domed greens that don't hold shots very well. You'd better be able to chip and putt! Some really interesting holes.
Wendell Long
Fun
It was a fun course to play, the par fives are really long if you don't hit a long drive, but overall had a great experience. Minus having a foursome in front of a buddy and I slowing down the pace of play.
Surrey hills
Course is being upgraded with creeks made wider and add bunkers. Course in good shape
Just wet from all the rain we had.
Great experience
Good course in good condition. Pace was great, never had to wait. If not for the 35 mph winds it would've been perfect.
Challenging on all fronts!!!
It's a bit difficult to write a review, when the dominating factor for the day we played, was the wind. It was gusting to 25-30 most of the day. Nevertheless, the course can be very demanding for those who haven't played it before. Yes, there are many holes that are pretty straightforward, but there also a few with blind holes and lots of traps, and water own between. I'll be back.
Surrey Hills April 2016
First time out this year... Course in good shape. Greens very good... Love the changes made to the course....will be back!
This course was challenging
This was my first time to play the course which made it more challenging due to the unfamiliarity. I was disappointed in the quality of the greens. Some of the green had several bad spots and the greens were rather small.
Very enjoyable
It was in great condition. Enjoyed the course very much.
At the last minute, two of our players had a medical emergency and couldn't make it, and the manager was very considerate in the way he handled our problem. Very nice man...
Dry and windy
This course is going through some upgrade with some fairway bunkers . I like playing here , because it is a nice layout and can be challenging on some holes . On this day it was windy and dry , and the greens were hard and fast. I would give this course 4 stars and will continue to play .
Staff rude
Play here all the time as I live in Yukon. First time I have had an issue. But the staff was very rude about me asking to play ahead of our tee time. He said you all got this tee time at next to nothing as if it was free. I said the course is pretty open would it be okay. He said this one time as if it was an inconvenience for him. 8 cars in the parking lot and he is wanting to be rude to one of his few customers. It is fine if you don't want people to play your course but if you don't want to be on golf now for discounted rates then maybe you should not offer them. I will not be going back anytime soon and will be letting family and friends know about the rudeness of this man.
Windy Day at Surrey Hills
Unfortunately it was extremely windy, 25+ mph. The course was in very good shape for the end of January. The greens rolled very well and fast. Fairways were in good shape. Course layout is interesting. Carts are kinda slow, but it could have been we just wanted to finish to get out of the wind!
Couple Holes Make for a Difficult Course, Slow Play
There are a couple seriously rough holes on this course (3 and 5) which tends to ramp up your score, but - for the most part - the others really aren't that bad. Course has some nice lines here and there. I've experienced some of the slowest play here, though, compared to other courses around the OKC area and have had the staff shrug their shoulders as GolfNow showed 18 holes when they, apparently, had only 9 available due to a regular group. That usually happens toward twilight, though...for me, at least. 19th hole looks like it could be a good time, but I haven't, yet, had the opportunity to indulge.
Fun, challenging layout, BUT.........
Course conditions were poor, to put it lightly. A lot of construction occurring on multiple holes, large construction equipment on the fairways, giant holes/ trenches dug on the fairways and around the greens on several of the holes. Would've been nice to know about ongoing course construction before committing to playing a round there. Greens were not in the best shape. Tee box on the driving range was a 1 1/2 foot wide strip of dirt on a downhill slope. Not the best place to warm up before a round. Staff was friendly and several of the holes were very scenic, especially during the Spring/ Summer months, I imagine. Overall, a fun layout, but would not play again until course conditions are more respectable.
Ok
Decent but not great. I like the golf club cleaner on the cart and the people were nice.
Great day
glad to see the fall season come around and take down some of the rough around this course. Played it early summer and the rough was pretty thick, but this time around, much easier to find the ball, but I do suggest white golf balls as the leaves do make it tough at times to find the ball.
This was the first time for the Mrs. to play this course, and she even liked it and that is a good thing, as it is pretty friendly for a woman golfer.
It was a great day overall and we will be going back in the spring time
Totally agree with your comment. I had same experience and tell everyone I play with to avoid playing this course because they don't appreciate their customer.
