Oregon City Golf Club
About
Oregon City Golf Club was originally built in 1922 as a nine-hole course. In 1960, the second nine was added bringing the total yardage to 5,940. It had no sand traps but did contain plenty of trees and rolling fairways.
Today, the course has been updated with sand traps on most holes, water on three, and the same rolling fairways and trees that have grown significantly larger. The drainage is excellent which makes it an outstanding winter course. A new clubhouse was completed in 1997 which provides all the amenities a golfer could need; including a fully stocked pro-shop, snack bar, 2,400 ft. banquet facility, putting green, and a large outside deck for your pre or post round refreshments.

Good features
Good fairway and green , price is great. But don't know not much guys to play ?
Short course with some tough holes
This is a hidden gem. Keep your ball between the trees and you will get a good score. Greens run a little slower than they look. There are a couple of par fives that you need a very long drive to make the dogleg.
Slow greens
Over all the course is in good shape. The greens are soft. The greens are rather slow compared to other courses.
A Long Afternoon
The course is in good shape. It does attrack a lot of beginners which tends to slow the pace down. Five hours is just too much time to spend playing 18 holes. I probably won't play this course on the weekends.
Okay
Nice neighborhood course, easy to walk moderately challenging.
Very inadequate driving ranch and practice facilities, pro shop virtually non-existent. GolfNow "price" priceless !!
Slow Greens
Overall the course has an interesting layout. The greens were really slow probably no more than a 6.
Great public course
I've played a number of public courses and I was impressed with the condition of the golf course. The course has been watered well, allowing for great shots tee-to-green.
reall y liked the course fairness. Hit it straight and your in good shape.. Greens were excellent ..
for the money, this was agreat deal..very easy to walk..not long , but need to keep it in fairway..play was extremely fast which I like.. a little over 3 hrs for 18 was unreal..
Good Course
Oregon City golf course is a great course. The fairways were great with the exceptions of the edges where it was dry and hard-pan. Otherwise, the course was in the best shape I've seen in a while. The approaches on some of the holes were a little spongy and the same on a couple of greens. I hit a few and they hit and stayed within about 6 inches of where they hit. The greens were faster than they looked. To bad the people who play the course don't know how to fix their divots. The ball jumped a little as a result.
Overall, I would play this course again.
Nice course for iron play.
My one knock on this course and its a major knock is the putting greens. Absolutely horrible. Spongy and super slow. As well as the staff maintains the fairways and course overall, way not take some of the water out of the greens roll them to around a 10 or 11 and make OCGC the best medium size course in the state.
Fun Course
I like the closing hole. Do you drive the green or lay up? That kind of risk / reward hole makes a course fun and challenging.
Enjoyed golfing there.
The starter was very nice. Golfed with a nice man and his grandson. Would definitely golf there again.
Great Course, Fun to play, Well maintained
I like playing this course very much. Very nice pro shop with food, snacks, and golf products.
Short course but well maintained
Was short even from the tips, but there are a lot of risk-reward opportunities.
a few challenging holes
Lots of beautiful tall trees and a stunning view of Mt Hood
love the elevated tee on the back par 3. didn't like 18...or maybe i just hit my 4 iron a little too far..but hit the water, when it should have laid up. the greens were true.. all nicely taken care of. I will return.
Pretty but slow - in more ways than one.
OCGC is a very pretty course and a challenging layout requiring good course management to make greens in regulation possible. Often a player will need to be able to shape a shot right or left to attack the pin.
What a pity and disappointment then that the putting surfaces were so soft, slow, and their grain so course. Putting was so slow and the greens so bumpy that by the back nine I had taken to pitching any putt longer than 15ft. Putting into the course grain on the greens required extreme force usually reserved for putting from well off the green and would bounce around like a pachinco ball.
Marshalling was a bit lax the day we played and it took about 3 hours to complete the front 9 - the back was conciderably better.
One other serious flaw was in the amenities: there was no drinking water anywhere on the course. It was quite hot the day we played and I got uncomfortably dehydrated before the cart girl showed up. She was out of water by then... I very much appreciate a course that looks out for it patrons and has water fountains or coolers placed liberally about the course.
Great course one of my top 5.
Great course, I will add this to my list of golf courses that I play on a regular basis. Nice friendly people, the staff brought water around. The drink girl was friendly and came around often. Very good time was had by all.
terrible
The course was in decent shape.not a bad experience on the course. My problem with this golf course was the staff. Clubhouse staf was rude to me and talked to me like I was beneath them! Extremely disrespectful and was charged wrong. I will NEVER go back to this golf course!
