Tee boxes are a goat track, fairways are legit rough, greens were the length of what a fairway should be. I hate when owners make courses like these. At least make the fairways and tee boxes flat and thinish
Highly Disappointed
Course is in terrible shape, cost based on conditions was way too high.
Will not play this again or recommend to anyone, at all levels.
Absolute trash
Place is incredibly cheap for a reason. You can barely call it a golf course it's in that bad of shape. Roughest course I have ever played in my entire life and will not be back
A true beginner’s course
The course has the ability to be decent with the proper maintenance. Some of the greens had cart tire marks on the fronts, they were very dry. The tee boxes had mostly Kentucky blue grass and clover. The fairway and rough were often hard to differentiate.
With the right TLC this could be a really fun course though. It’s relatively inexpensive and easily traversed. I had an early tee time and there were people out in front of me and sssem to be regulars. Most people on the course seemed nice and as a single let me play though. The first 9 was a little difficult to figure out the layout, but by the back it wasn’t a problem. Not sure if I’ll come back, but it’s convenient, so I might.
The worst!
We Booked 24 hours in advance and no one was there for the check in we had to book at another course.
Just a wait of time and money!
Bulldozer needed
This is barely a golf course. It probably was playable 20 years ago. Clearly hasn't been taken care of at all in years. If it was free it would be overpriced. Do not waste your time. Stay away.
Old Rouge Course with a lot of history.
The course has a lot of history as formerly Ambridge County Club designed by some of the original designers of the Oakmont County Club. It is a 9 hole course but each green had 2 different tee boxes to allow a full 18 holes. The course conditions were not the greatest but still playable the fairways where slightly longer than I'm used too and the rough was fairly thick. The greens where challenging and had a few bad spots with dead grass and clover. Overall it was a challenging course that course definitely be a good bit nicer if it is properly maintained.
Very unkempt course
It's actually a hard unique course, unfortunately it's not kept really well or maintained. Putting surfaces are really bad, fairway is mostly weeds that are too high. the rough around the greens is so high you will loose your ball. Bring lots of balls because the rough and even fairway is high so finding your ball is challenging. The tee boxes are unlevel and bumpy and mostly weeds. The cart paths will have you reaching for Ibuprofen because of how bad they are or in some cases non existent. On a positive note it's never busy so you can just jump right on just bring lots of balls and pain meds.
Hard to believe it was a country club in the past.
Pace of play terrible. Definitely need a ranger. Greens were very spongey and bare in spots.
No course maintenance
Worst course i’ve ever played in my life. I’ve had better tee boxes to hit off of at a driving range with the mats. Greens are as tall as the fairways should be and the fairways are as tall as the rough should be. The staff kepts running machines right next to the 9th tee box and kept making noise that was impossible to hit a good shot with. Overall i wouldn’t put a friend through the round that i went through with that course and how bad its maintained. For $40 i’d rather go hit balls at a range and have more fun. Just stay away from this course until they figure out how to operate a lawn mower and cut their grass.
Not worth the price
Tee boxes were in extremely poor conditions; Greens not much better
Unplayable Conditions
I understand that this course is not a top notch course, but it is a problem when the fairways are so thick that you lose your ball every time you hit. The fairways were so thick that I couldn't find my ball every time I hit. I lost at least a dozen balls not because of shanking them, but not being able to find them on the fairways. This place is a cheap place to play, but they aren't taking care of the course. Tee boxes were grown in. I played with three other people that are regulars there that were complaining too. It's just falling fast.
