Apollo Elks Country Club

About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

Great layout and well kept greens.
My only issue was the lack of proper yardage markers. And signs for tee boxes were nill& none.

its a nice course for the money, its in decent shape, for how dry its been, always enjoy playing there.
Enjoyed my first time here
I played here with my wife in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. We played for $20 each on a Red Flag deal. Speed of play was great because we didn't catch up to anyone until the 13th hole when our cart broke down. After calling the pro shop to bring us a new cart and letting the twosome, who caught up to us while we were waiting play though, we were still at a decent pace the rest of the way. We had to wait before teeing off on 17 and 18.
Course was in good shape for the most part. Greens and bunkers were great. I was in the bunker 4 or 5 times so I'll call myself an expert. Fairways were hit and miss. Some were better than others.
The layout is pretty open. There are woods but fairways are wide. As this was my first outing of the year, I missed most fairways but still was not that far off. However, if you do happen to go into the woods, you can't find your ball even if you just trickle in If you try, you'll be met with poison ivy as soon as you step in.
Staff was very friendly. One thing I would have liked was to have a water fill station. We drink plenty of water and forgot our big jug that we usually bring. Had to buy waters for $2 a piece, but I suppose that's okay since we got such a good deal on the greens fee.
I did not see any other food for purchase. They may have had it but all I saw was a cooler with drinks, and I didn't ask about food.
Overall, this course was a great deal for $20. I would definitely play here again for the same price and will likely return even if I have to pay a little more.
Unbelievable condition
This course is a hidden gem. The only below par thing on this course is the cart paths! Below par is good in golf but not in this analogy. Greens are perfect and traps have plenty of white sand, not the river garbage sand. Please don't think about playing here because i don't want anyone to know about it.
Course in nice shape.
Greens in nice shape, Fairways freshly cut. We were a twosome and played quickly until the 5th hole when we caught a foursome. Then we waited 10 +minutes on each of the next 4 holes. Not fun playing…waiting that long (for me).
We made the turn with a back up, so just decided to play the front 9 again. No issues, fast play.
Cart paths a little rough, but overall a nice course and good rates thru Teeoff.

The course was just ok. Good greens. The problem we had was the guy running the place kept driving up to us in a cart and would just stare at us then would tell us about rules we weren’t breaking. The 4th or 5th time we just ignored him and didn’t acknowledge him. It was a little creepy.
The course was very wet. Greens were soft and perfect.
Very enjoyable course to play. Traps need some work after all the rain we have had. Greens are beautiful. Only draw back is no snacks were available till May first for some stupid reason
Should get money back
I showed up to the course to find out I could only play the back 9 cause the front 9 was under construction on the tee box and greens get eragted for the end of 5he season so I had to play the back 9 twice wish in my mind is not worth paying the 28 dollars I payed I rather spent 50 or 60 dollars to play another course that both 9 opened
