Apollo Elks Country Club
About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

The Price Is Right( per Bob Barker)
Course was well manicured for early spring. Tees were rough and appeared unkept. Greens were fair
Fall golf
Greens were great. Rest of the Course was not in good condition.
Airiation
A couple holes were closed for airiation. To be expected his time of year.
Back nine closed
Greens on front were plugged, but in great condition
Good 18 hole course
Very nice course. The only problem I had on the date we played was the back 9 was unavailable to play so we had to play the front 9 twice because the back 9 had been ariated. I don't believe they cook food there.
no single players
no single player can book on golf now. if the course would make players who book the same tee time play together they would use less carts.man on phone said whaever. don't care
Better than I expected
If basing it on fairways and cart paths, would have given it a worse rating. But the traps weren't bad and the greens were perfect. I would definitely play here again!
Greens
Some of my favorite greens I’ve played all season.
Great layout and well kept greens.
My only issue was the lack of proper yardage markers. And signs for tee boxes were nill& none.
apollo elks
its a nice course for the money, its in decent shape, for how dry its been, always enjoy playing there.
Enjoyed my first time here
I played here with my wife in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. We played for $20 each on a Red Flag deal. Speed of play was great because we didn't catch up to anyone until the 13th hole when our cart broke down. After calling the pro shop to bring us a new cart and letting the twosome, who caught up to us while we were waiting play though, we were still at a decent pace the rest of the way. We had to wait before teeing off on 17 and 18.
Course was in good shape for the most part. Greens and bunkers were great. I was in the bunker 4 or 5 times so I'll call myself an expert. Fairways were hit and miss. Some were better than others.
The layout is pretty open. There are woods but fairways are wide. As this was my first outing of the year, I missed most fairways but still was not that far off. However, if you do happen to go into the woods, you can't find your ball even if you just trickle in If you try, you'll be met with poison ivy as soon as you step in.
Staff was very friendly. One thing I would have liked was to have a water fill station. We drink plenty of water and forgot our big jug that we usually bring. Had to buy waters for $2 a piece, but I suppose that's okay since we got such a good deal on the greens fee.
I did not see any other food for purchase. They may have had it but all I saw was a cooler with drinks, and I didn't ask about food.
Overall, this course was a great deal for $20. I would definitely play here again for the same price and will likely return even if I have to pay a little more.
