About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

Greens are Great-Everything Else Needs Help
The course needs some attention. I don't think there was a single cart path with asphalt. Many paths are rough...with ditches and gullies...and you are riding over tree roots. Directional signage between some holes is present but could use some more. Greens are in great shape. No brown patches.

Nice day on the course
Course is in nice shape. Greens are a little slow, but hold the ball well. A couple soggy spots here and there, but we did just have an inch and a half of rain in the area yesterday so that was expected, but not hindering play at all. This is the third time I've played here this year and with a hot deal of under 22 dollars it's hard to beat! Played in 3 hours 45 minutes.
I would suggest taking bug spray or the gnats will drive you crazy.
Greens are great-

Very Disappointing
Arrived about 40 minutes early for our foursomes tee time only to not be able to find anyone in the checkin area. Waited 10 to fifteen minutes and still no one available. No carts were available either. Finally someone showed up only to tell us they had an outing in progress and they only have 30 carts and all were in use for the outing. Was told after 2 PM they should have carts. This was 40 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Tried to cancel through GolfNow. Waited until almost 2 before carts available. Course was in ok shap but cart paths were in terrible condition. Greens ok but a number of fairways were under repair and some impassable. Very disappointed in lack of service and poor quality.
Great value
The course was in decent shape considering the time of year. The pace was smooth and the staff very friendly.
Nice early April round
The course was is good shape for this early in the season. Greens were very consistent and rolled true. Pleasantly surprised.

Good condition considering the weather we have been having.
SOLID COURSE FOR THE MONEY
We ended up paying $17 a person with a hot deal and discount code. For the money it was a very good deal. The course was nice and the greens were great. my only complaint was the carts and facility weren't very good. but over all a solid course and would recommend it.

Nice greens and tee boxes. Many par 4 holes. Liked the course. But the cart paths are quiet rough.
