Apollo Elks Country Club
About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

thoroughly enjoyed playing this course, for a public course it is very well maintained and the greens are fairly fast. What impressed me the most was the condition of the course, i have played many local courses in the past weeks and the dry conditions have taken their toll; but not here. The tee shots were moderately difficult, fairways are narrow but forgiving. The staff was very friendly and accommodating the beer was cold at the Elks club. only Con: cartpaths are very bumpy and uneven. Great Day!
Great course! Great Value!
One of the best kept secrets in Western Pennsylvania.
Course is very well maintained and much more challenging than its yardage indicates.
Good course for intermediate golfers
Took my dad out here for fathers day and was overall pretty happy with the course. The greens weren't that tough to put on and were maintained well. (although most of them were very small) It kinda had a beginners course feel to it. It was maintained well has water and sand so no complaints there. I prob won't go back because it's an hour from me but for 30$ on golf now....I could find a better course to play. Overall worth the value ....
LITTLE KNOWN SECRET...BEST VALUE COURSE!!!
We have been playing course once or twice a month...never disappointed with course conditions and pace of play...we talk about it at our bar over beers & wings...nice bar (Cool Waters)down the road for beer & wings!!!
Good Time
Got there a little early. Was able to start right away. Course was in great shape. Had some challenging holes yet we had a fun time. Played course while never getting held up or having anyone push us from behind.
Nothing Fancy - A Good, Challenging Golf Course
Sneaky long. Some blind shots - but fair. Nice assortment of par 3's. A good woodlands course. Don't expect much in amenities, but the Elks do strive to keep the golf course playable. Well above average greens. Nice design in a pleasant setting.
Worth the money
The price was good. Course was in good shape.
Weather was perfect.
course was in excellant condition
the golf course was in excellent condition & staff was
friendly. the golf carts & facilities should be updated
otherwise it was a very good round of golf.
GNATS
It was a muggy day. I guess they are not allowed to spray but i will cross this off my list. Can't putt or tee off when gnats are gunning for your eyes.
Last minute golfer
Great value, staff was helpful and courteous,
matched me up with a partner. Real nice experience.
Hidden Jem
Nice track with different hole shapes and challenges. GREENS receptive and putt able.
For the money A+.......Hot Deal staff very helpful and courteous. Will play again soon..
Not a fan
The fairways weren't even that cut down, almost like a first, short cut of rough. The greens were soft but slow so that isn't that bad. The workers almost seemed bothered by questions you'd ask as a first time player at their course.
GREAT course!!!
We LOVE LOVE this course and especially the golfnow hot deals for here!! Course is in great condition and we always enjoy our rounds here at Apollo Elks!!
Nice course
The greens, fairways, tee boxes and sand pits were in very good condition. Cart paths are a little rough but did not mind that at all. Overall great course, I will be back for another round.
Well maintained course
The course was in good shape, considering all the rain of the past few weeks. The greens were excellent. We arrived early and were allowed to tee off 1/2 hour before our tee time. We played the whole round with no one in front of us.
singer
the course was in great shape due to the weather western pa has had lately and the greens were in great shape.
Nice course to relax and smack some balls
Course was wet from all the rain this spring but a very sweet course to play on
Wow! Wish I lived close by!
My wife and I had made trip from New Jersey to Pittsburgh to see Chesney concert, decided to play a round of golf. Saw good deal on Golfnow, so booked a tee time. The staff was so friendly. The course was amazing! Greens and tee boxes were excellent, fairways were beautiful and the views were amazing. Membership is $1000 a year, with hunting and fishing privileges, plus for extra $70 you can be an ELK! Saturday and Sunday morning, my wife wanted to go back and play. If I ever make it to the area again, we will definitely play it again.
Elks country club
Great course. They were out of carts so the pro shop manager gave us his personal cart.
