Tough course with recent upgrades
I usually play here once or twice each year (friend of mine is a member) and it's always in great shape. Greens are slick with plenty of break, and a lot of holes are tight, so you have to be precise off the tee. Provides a challenging experience with a lot of elevation changes. In recent years, they've upgraded the clubhouse locker rooms and the restaurant to expand an outdoor seating area on a patio by the practice green. I personally would never pay to be a member at any country club, but I do enjoy playing this course a few times a year when possible.
Nice Club Course
Visited as guest of member. All the staff were super friendly. Course was challenging. Would compare to The Fort in Indianapolis. Lots of elevation. Challenging greens. Great food in clubhouse that is newly renovated. Definitely recommend.
Scratch This Off Your List
There really isn't a good reason to choose this golf course over ANY in Western PA. None.
While this private club has a reasonable clubhouse, swimming and tennis facility its golf course should be bulldozed at the earliest opportunity. Its as if 18 people each designed a hole and then wound a cart path through it and called it a course.
None of the holes has much of anything to do with any other hole on the course. Most involve forced carries to elevated greens. Some of the elevations are 3 clubs up to narrow, blind greens with odd grain and no bailout area. Both #9 and #18 involve carrying an ill defined creek that force most golfers to back off hit 3 wood and then deal with the 3 club carry to the green.
This course will not force you to hit every club in your bag. In fact if will make you want to toss your clubs back in the trunk and drive down the road to a better course.
