Bethlehem Golf Club - Monocacy Course
About
Bethlehem Golf Club has both a championship course and a nine-hole executive course. The championship Monocracy Course is a demanding layout that will require the use of every club in your bag. Designed by William and Dan Gordon, the course is a local favorite that has a four-star rating from Golf Digest and has been ranked as one of the 100 must-play golf courses in the Philadelphia area. The par-71 layout stretches to just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. The par 3s and par 4s are long, and there are a few reachable par 5s if you can keep it straight. The golf course has a traditional design with narrow, tree-lined fairways. The gently rolling terrain has subtle changes in elevation that can cause some tricky uneven lies. Bethlehem Golf Club's undulating greens require accurate shot placement and they are often protected by strategically placed bunkers

Excellent day for golf
This was my first time playing this course. The course is well kept and enjoyable. The staff is very friendly. Finally a course with fast enough greens so the ball rolls out. It felt like putting in a golf store where every putt comes close or drops in the hole. The fairways are wide and not too much trouble to get into on the edges. This was a 90 minute drive and well worth it. I look forward to returning here. I would like to try the food and visit the pro shop once this Pandemic comes to an end.
Good course for all skill levels
Was a little disappointed back two tee boxes were removed “for pace of play” reasons but the course is a good one for beginners and experts alike. Removed a lot of trees which is nice. I might go back but it’s a bit of a trip for me because I shot my best round of the year there
Disappointed
I was looking forward to trying this course because it's listed as 7000 years and it's hard to find long public courses. When i got there, they had the back TWO tee boxes closed for no reason other than "most golfers can't handle a course over 6200 yards." I got a lecture about it, too. This place caters to 25 hcp players, which is fine, because the course itself has all the personality of a slice of white bread and was only in B- shape. That's apparently a massive improvement, but no second cut of rough, the greens weren't rolled and they took out hundreds of trees recently so there aren't any good sight lines. I won't be back.
Course was in great shape greens were fast. Easy check in with the starter will come back and play this course again
Terrific course and a great time!
we've played several courses in our area since this coronavirus mess started and i gotta say Bethlehem Municipal is BY FAR the nicest course we've seen. i knew they put a great deal of money into the facility and it really shows. the result is a much more open feel with very nicely groomed fairways, rough, greens and even the bunkers. only thing lacking that i wish they'd remedy is to put back the signs marking each hole; number, distances, layout.
we will most certainly return to Bethlehem Muni in the near future.
Playable
Great course that feels very friendly... challenging holes that won’t beat you up... very enjoyable!

Improvements
Course looking and playing much better after improvements made! Greens were running great and fairways in great shape. Revamped bunkers!! Great shape! More improvements to come!!
Beautiful fall day
We played the back nine twice due to rebuilding of the sand traps on the front nine. Other than that the course and staff were great. The club house was a nice stop after the golf and the food was delicious. Great day of golf with the wife.
Bethlehem Municipal
The course was in good shape
the leaves were cleared from fairways
there was some construction on a few holes and they had temporary greens
that was the only drawback
otherwise everything went well
Sunday’s In B Town
Excellent choice for walking 18 if in the area. Nice wide forgiving fairways. Tricky par 3s. Fast hard packed greens.
