About
Surrounded by the Pocono Mountains, the Pocono Hills Golf Course (formerly Fernwood Resort & Country Club) was carefully carved from wooded hillsides. Condos and other residences were later built near the golf course and although they are situated quite close, the round is still enjoyable. The layout is tight with narrow fairways that are lined with trees. The front nine is easier than the back where more dramatic elevation changes come into play. Many of the greens have elevations of over 50 feet, making approach shots a formidable test. There are also a number of tricky doglegs that are practically 90 degree turns. The layout rewards straight, accurate drives and the greens putt fast and true. There are a number of challenging holes, especially the 10th and 14th, but overall Pocono Hills Golf Course is approachable enough for all skill levels.

Got in before the rain
Course in good condition. There was a couple of wet spots but it rained pretty hard yesterday.
Good course
Well kept course sand taps could use some rakes around them other than that was a great place to golf will be back again
Great deal
The course was in great condition and the Hot Deal price was amazing. We were neither crowded or held up so pace of play was not an issue. Layout is average but there are some tough holes. My only complaint was that the GHIN system doesn’t recognize the course and I had to put my score in manually for my handicap.
Early spring play
The course was in early spring condition wet in places but manageable. Greens were soft and held the ball well . Managed to make an eagle on 17 ‘s pair 5 .
Too Many people
We love this course, but they either let too many people out this weekend or have no idea how to move golfers along.
I am not one of these golfers who insist we finish in under 4 hours, but this round took 5 hours and 20 minutes! We asked a ranger to help but they were kids and had no idea how to get people moving.
It was very disappointing.
Other than that, the course is in god shape and the kids running it are nice and friendly.
