Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Pennsylvania
Course in bad shape, especially fairways and tee boxes. Strange layout wi some strange holes..12, 13 where you have to hit right over a busy street..
Fun time in the Poconos
Great time staff was great 👍 course was fun and challenging only negative was no hole layout had to rely on my watch
Greens are well maintained even though it's been very dry this season. Good pace and great layout.
Friendly municipal course.
Very friendly, local course, not too long. Have to make your shots to small greens well-maintained and fun.
Short from the gold tees Good condition for October.
Boring & slow play. Left after 14 holes
Positive parts? It’s inexpensive and the greens were well cared for during this summer’s drought.
It was boring. No appealing views or layout. Tees were often crabgrass farms. Fairways mediocre at best.
Lots of old men playing forward tees and playing poorly.
Each hole was more of the same. I was a single and behind a foursome who never offered me to play thru. Hard to play well when you stand alone for a long time waiting to take a swing. I realized the final four holes wouldn’t change my opinion of the course and it would be a long slow pain to 18. So I left after 14 holes. Something I’ve never ever done.
Skip this course.
Beware of cranky old men
First of all the course was in decent shape, especially the greens, which were smooth and slow. Some of the fairways were soaked since they were watering them after we had about 2 inches of rain on Tuesday. Overall the layout is interesting with many blind shots and some holes where local knowledge would be very helpful. However... the desk clerk was cranky and downright hostile when it was revealed that I booked on Golf Now. Keep in mind this is a municipal course. Why he should care if I got a deal or not iis beyond me. One single went off before me but I was told to wait (I was also a single) because there was another Golf Now twosome booked for my tee time. I waited about a half hour and a foursome came to the tee. They told me to go ahead and play, rather than wait behind them all day. I could have been on the course with another golfer, a local who knew the place, but I waited for no good reason other than the clerk was a jerk. Actually ruined my whole day. I'll play elsewhere from now on. Let the town find other sources of revenue. Having worked for municipal government for many years, I've run into these "field generals" many times. I guess they think they're big shots when the wife lets them out of the house.
Oldies but goodies
Tight fairways, lots of Hazard left and right of the course. Different layout, blind tee shot, need to play regular to score well.
