My first golf outing

The owner said that we skipped a hole while we played all 9. Then he sent his employees to call us peices of **** and that we ******* suck at golf that the we need to hurry the **** up. First golf experience on my end fairly annoyed at the same time wont turn me away. You guys suck.

This course will test all level of golfers.

Excellent course for the money. Very challenging from the blue tees. Would highly recommend this course. Some would call it a hidden gem.

Overrated by others

This course is in the middle of nowhere and has NO amenities. It's a single person pro shop with a very friendly man named Meryl, running things. The course is tree lined and has a decent layout, but the greens are very hard. The ball bounces so hard on the green that we had to start landing balls short of the green and bouncing them on. If you hit the green it would bounce over. Green were slow, but rolled well.

Highlight of the day was the neighborhood dog that lives off the first fairway. The golden retriever came out to greet us while on number 1, and being dog lovers we enjoyed that. Super dog.

There was a very slow 4 some in front of us and they didn't let us play through so we skipped around them. Pace of play was fine after that for us, but for very one behind that 4 some it was slow.

The course is a great value. We laid $13 on a hot deal, with a cart, and it's worth a lot more than that, but it is NOT a 5 star golf course (like PGA West Stadium - that's my standard for 5 stars)

Nice Track

Excellent and huge greens, longish par 4s, overall condition very good, cant say anything bad about this place.

Only issue I had were with the flags, couldnt tell if they were front/back.

Should have asked in pro-shop.

Lack of 19th hole (BYOB?)

Will go again for sure.

Unbelievable Value

I am a 6 handicap that plays 5-6/week. This is a beautiful course with the nicest fairways in western Pennsylvania. I felt guilty getting to play this course for 10.00 for 18 and a cart. I got some sunglasses from the pro shop just to make myself feel better! Nice glasses, GREAT GOLF

Great find on our trip.

We found this course in between destination points. A grey day with rain possibilities so had the place to ourselves. Very well maintained with great greens and stellar fairways. Loved it and no rain.

Best course for the value

Ive played on many golf courses and Mt Hope provides the best value for a round of golf: great course conditions, great service, and the golfers that were there let us play through and observed proper golf etiquette. I would recommend this course to anybody who is looking for a challenging but at the same time a fun course. From professional golfer to amateur hackers I would recommend this course to anyone!

Bang for Buck

As a golfer from a state where you play year-round golf (Florida), this course played very well. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. It is certainly worth the price. I even scored my first ever eagle on the par five 15 with about a 100 yard approach shot. I knew I had to have landed on the green but couldn't see exactly where my ball was from the angle I had. I walked up to the green with my putter and sand wedge (just in case) and couldn't find my ball anywhere until my cousin went to pull the flag and there was my Nike 4. Couldn't believe it!

A Wonderful Eperience

When I spoke the owner to book our round, I knew he was an honest gentleman . Upon arrival, we were greeted with a genuine and friendly attitude. They also made sure that my wife and I were not rushed and we felt that we had the course all to ourselves. The course is in great shape, it has great value, and we plan to be back. We play 2-3 times weekly and we found it quite challenging. The two tiered green on #12 was just amazing.

Thank-You Merle & Staff for you hospitality.

Bring your Driver

Great course with wide fairways so be ready to use your driver. Thought some of the yard markers were not accurate. Loved the course layout. This was a pleasant surprise and a course I'm sure to return in the near future. Greens were excellent.
