It is what it is
This is and always has been a family owned and operated public golf course that could fall under the moniker of a local muni. This is a nice local golf course for seniors, ladies and beginners. On this Mother's Day I got in a quick 2 hour round playing as a single in a cart on cart paths only. Parts of the course do not take water and drain well. The fairways are basically a lawn mowed short, the rough isn't severe and the small greens main defense are the angles they are set at. I recommend it for casual and local players but not necessarily low handicap players.
A near perfect afternoon on the course
I had played Neshaminy once before and wanted to go back with a foursome to really appreciate it. We arrived early and they said we could go on right away. We were waiting for our friend so we couldn't but still a nice gesture. The lady at the snack bar was extremely nice and they had good selection of beer and snacks.
The course isn't spectacular, but exactly what we were looking for. Front 9 is very open, back 9 was a little more challenging. Greens are large, but far from flat and they were kind of slow which is fine. Some long par 3s.
My only real complaint is the condition of the tee boxes. They were rock hard and not much grass on most of them. It was actually quite difficult to get a tee in of many the holes. That wouldn't deter me from playing again.
The course was pretty near perfect for the price and for a round with three good friends to play and have a couple beers.
Nice Place, Slow Pace
Went to play a quick 9 after work, figured I'd walk it alone for $16.
First hole was nice length for starting hole. Then a single behind me in a cart played it fast and I let him past only to be 4 groups deep by the third hole par 3. I paired up with the other single and a twosome for the rest of the 7 holes. It was one of the first nice evenings of the season, so I don't blame the course and we did get all 9 on the front in. Yes it was slow, but I accomplished what I wanted to (albeit playing rather poorly) after work and it was a nice course too boot.
Pretty open and had a couple memorable holes on the front 9. Has is a long hole with a lake/pond near the green. It was a fun hole to play.
Want to come back here at some point with a foursome and really play the entire course and enjoy the round, because I feel like I would. Weekend rates also seem reasonable but to walk 9 for $16 on a weeknight evening is a steal!
Great course, good staff, good pace of play...
Very friendly staff that rides around the course making sure everyone is on a good pace. Well maintained fairways and greens. Couple spots that could use some work but nice layout overall. Not many trees, wide open holes.
