nice course
what stands apart about this course is the speed of the greens and the amount of blind shots. Fastest greens I played this year. I'm not a big fan of the blind shot especially on a course that I'm relatively unfamiliar with. If you like that, then this course is fantastic.
Couldn't ask for more
Not only was it a perfect day weather-wise, but Crossgates was an amazing course. It was in flawless condition; the greens rolled truer than any other course I have played in a long time. Some of the holes require some target golf, but for the most part, the course is pretty open. Will definitely be playing again soon.
Nice course...slow play
I was pleased with the condition of the tees and greens, and it was more challenging than many other public courses in the price range...all good things! Only issue I saw was with the enforcement of their pace of play policy. From the first shot to the last I was waiting 3-5 minutes behind a group that would reload 2 and 3 times off of the tee, and just generally painfully slow and discourteous play. To the courses defense, they did notify the offenders that they were not keeping up with the pace or play...but that was once at the turn, and nothing changed for that back nine. If I play this course again, i will tee-off at 6 to hopefully avoid any pace or play issues because 730 isn't early enough.
2nd time not a charm
This was the 2nd time I played this course, and the condition was much worse than the first time. The greens looked like their equipment had dug gouges into the surface that had been hastily repaired. The fairways (and some greens) looked like they had chemical burns from over fertilizing. Played okay, but looked horrible especially #10. I only got into one bunker (on #17) but it wasn't filled with sand as much as ground gravel. Rocks bigger then the golf ball, it was an absolute horror. Won't be going back.
great shape
i have only played here twice but have loved this course both times, the houses along course really don't come into play, the river runs along the course borders and makes for a great view, the only downfall was the 5 hour round for a Saturday afternoon tee time
One of the Best
Has one of the best finishing hole in Lacaster, PA
Great course!!
Payed $9 to ride 18 on a Friday afternoon! I would've pay $39! It's a super fun, tough course with a lot of elevation change. Maintained very nicely!
Beautiful course
This course has some very pretty holes and is in great shape. It's along the river and has great views. One of the nicest public courses around. Only downside, a lot of dog legs so long ball hitters rarely use their driver.
Excellent
This course never lets me down. I will continue to play this course whenever I see it available on sale. This has to be one of the nicest public courses in Lancaster!
Best course in town
My favorite course. A number of holes require consistently accurate shots to get a par, starting with number 1. A birdie on 10 and 18 would be a miracle...for me. All aspects of course condition were excellent. Fairways, greens and sand-traps perfect. Golf staff very accommodating, and bar staff very pleasant. Keep it up and many thanks.
Had an enjoyable round
This course was in great shape for early spring. The greens rolled fast and true
enjoyable day
Had a great day playing this course. Interesting holes. Pleasant staff. Challenging course. Great day.
Well maintained
Greens were in excellent condition and fast. I've played this course a number of times and it is always well manicured. Pace of play was a little slow as we were behind a slow foursome.
Overall nice course, handful of holes require target golf
Not a long course from the whites, if your hitting your tee ball well can make some birdies. Fun course to play. Some very tight holes and some holes driver shouldn't come out of the bag. Greens rolled nice with good speed. Excellent price on a Sunday afternoon, would play again.
High value
What a great course,we'll maintained ,very good par 3's,a mix of all kinds of holes ,with one of the best finishing holes around....a must play
One of my favorites in Lancaster County
Crossgates features fast greens that roll true. The layout is interesting, but the hole theme of "dog leg right" may be overused a bit. Definitely plays best to a right hand fader. Course is kept in very good condition and the pro shop staff are friendly and accommodating.
unique and challenging
Great time.... each hole was unique with incredible views. The greens rolled so smoothly it was like putting on a pool table... and the fairways were maintained better than other local course greens.
Liked this course from the first time i ever played it.
I place this course in the upper tier for our area. Not the very top tier, but the upper tier.
Course was in good shape. Greens were not full of ball marks and were somewhat fast.
Overall a very enjoyable course. Some scenic holes that follow a.stream and some nice holes surrounded by homes with attractive architecture.
