Rolling Fields Golf Club
About
Rolling Fields Golf Course in Murrayville, also known as "The Fields" to regulars, boasts fast greens that are some of the area's best. The layout stretches across rolling green hills sprinkled with mature trees. There are plenty of interesting holes but the golf course is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The front nine is fairly straightforward with only trees and the occasional bunker causing trouble. The course gets more challenging on the back nine, which starts with the longest par 4 on the backside. Accuracy is a necessity on this tough hole with a narrow fairway and small green. Rolling Fields Golf Course boasts one of western Pennsylvania's premier finishing holes, a stunning par 4 with a lake that guards the front of the green. Even with all that the course offers, it is still one of area's most affordable.

Dryer than the Sahara
Played 18 here for the first time. I will absolutely not be back. The course was nothing but dust and clearly had not been watered since the beginning of summer. I thought $25 for a Wednesday was a deal but I would rather pay $10 more dollars and go to a much nicer course.
Hard pan “HA”
Staff on arrival was friendly. Advised golfer of fast/ hard conditions. Became obvious on rock hard 1st tee . Tees and fairways were solid and shots rolled a long way on the hard pan until they hit a grass patch. Irrigation if available isn’t used. Numerous greens had large amounts of dead areas. WILL NEVER GO BACK, was temped to leave after the 2d hole when a striped fairway had 40+ yards of lateral movement.

Neat layout, course was in horrible shape
I can’t believe I payed money to play this. I read the reviews and thought I’d give it the benefit of the doubt. I could not have been more wrong. Avoid this course at all costs. The tee boxes had no grass. Fairways were burnt, mostLy dirt and hard as a rock. It seems that they just neglected any upkeep on this course. The greens were burnt, cracked and just plain awful Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Not worth the Money
Course was so dry fairways are like concrete. Tee boxes are like being in the batters box. Never seen a course in that bad of condition.

Fun Little Layout, Terribly Conditioned
If you’re serious at all about the game, this course doesn’t offer you much at all. There are no fairways. It’s literally just tee boxes, many of which have very little grass; big fields of relatively short-cut grass; and then greens that — in many instances — have huge bare spots on them and don’t seem to have been cut in days. The greens were incredibly slow, and more than once I had to putt through dirt or move my ball up to 15 feet on the “green” in order to give myself a line no dirt patches between my ball and the hole. For the money — just $25 — I’m sure there are hackers who love the course, It gives them a place to go and whack the ball around without a whole lot of trouble, and it’s pretty short, so I’m sure they have fun. But with so many quality courses around that are so much better-maintained for just $10 or $15 more, I can’t imagine ever going back.

Course Conditions
Considering how dry the weather has been, the course was in excellent condition..
Leagues around tee box for #10
Husband and I love to play here. Close to home and we like the course . The last time we played there. Got to 18 and I couldn’t hit because there were at least 4 foursome waiting to tee off on 10. None of them move just stood there. Which I usually shoot over need tree over there to avoid the water. Once we got to the hole they had the whole exit block. With social distance in play. Well it wasn’t for any of those guys. Inconsiderate and just talking not even caring about others on the course. League should have to follow the same rules that we do.
Just Dry
Beautiful day... Fairways were hard as a rock... Greens played fair... Overall good time.

They gotta lot of work to do
I imagine this course is decent when it's seen any sort of rain or sprinkler water, at all, but as soon as I got to the course, the guy said it's really rolling today, and sure enough, the course could have been laid out on a parking lot. I won't be back for a long long time.

Oh my lord sweet heavens do NOT go to this course
I mean.. where to start? Tried starting my round on 18birdies and it said “everything okay?” They host a “mini outing” whilst still allowing tee times during the outing. So, you have a ton of people driving all over the course because for some reason the 10th hole was their last hole? This course was a dirt pit disguised as a golf course. Where did the fairway end & the rough start? I’m not even sure there was a fairway - only dirt and then some thicker grass, mixed with more dirt and burnt grass. As far as the greens go, whomever is responsible for relocating the pins needs to be fired. I could tell you where the last 5 pin locations were and the current cup had a fatter lip than Brooks Keopka after a bad round. Honestly, was this a joke? Maybe there’s a tradition where every July they just don’t water the course, throw trash all over every fairway and just hope for the best. Also, COVID who? Telling patrons to wear a mask inside but, none of the staff have one on or around, also didn’t really seem to enforce their own rule of masks inside to the patrons. I’m pretty sure the last time the golf carts were washed had to have been the flood of ‘99. I’ve provided a definition for sanitize below for the clubs reference because I am pretty sure they are unaware of the meaning. If I could I would give it negative stars, they owe me a star or two. Shot a 93 though, so, whatever.

Quit at the Turn
Course conditions were so bad we quit after 9 and we paid for 18. I’ve played some horrible courses but this was by far the worst. i would hit a drive in the fairway and it would roll out into the woods 2 holes over because the grass was so dry and dead.
DO NOT GO HERE.

If there was a zero for the rating I’d put it every time
We had 18 holes lined up but stopped after 9 because this isn’t real golf. The course was more dirty then grass. Never come here EVER. I’ve played some bad courses but this topped it for sure.
