Pocono Hills Golf Course

I always liked this course but it has been allowed to fall into very poor condition

This course layout is fine, but the greens are terrible and the fairways are marginally maintained. Tee boxes were dirt and grass and the sand traps have rakes but no one uses them in the mason sand. Greens were being worked on but were completely unplayable. Very scenic area but not worth the drive or the money.

they have 'no refund' signs all over the clubhouse, save your money.

Greens are unplayable holes like 13-18, hole 1 was pretty rough as well.

I've played some rough places and dont care normally, but this was laughable.

Only golf course review ive ever written, i want to warn others.

Played here last year for half the price and i cant believe its the same course, sad cause the place has good bones.

The greens were for the most part unplayable. There were many places where grass was nonexistent. I remember really enjoying this course. But, not in this condition

The course is a mountainous course some holes play long. On some of the fairways you really need to shave your shots heading straight doesn’t work after the ball lands. It roll out completely the other side of the fairway.. they’re working on the bonkers some of them they should just grass over.

If you can play for 30 / 40 bucks The course is worth it..

The front 9 was in okay shape

The back nine has no grass on the greens

I would have rather just played the front 9 twice instead of attempting to play the back at all

We have been coming to the Poconos for the past 15 years or so. Every year we play “Fernwood“ the old name, or Pocono Hills, sometimes in the past we would play the course two or three times. Occasionally a day trip for a round. Course was not perfect but it was always well kept, Nice and convenient and a fun day. This was the worst course I’ve ever played. It appeared that there has been no maintenance at the course in months. The greens were deserts. Patchy and worn. Might as well have been putting on asphalt. Don’t know what happened but we will not be returning.

Usually great, today the greens on back nine are not good.

A good course that’s being ‘end of the season’ neglected. All the greens on the back nine were eaten up by some weird fungus which in addition to recent aeration and seemingly minimal watering, made it like trying to putt on a giant dry sponge. It was crap. It would have been nice if ANYONE at the pro shop had at least told us going out. It stunk.

I played this course three years ago and was looking forward to coming back. On the back 9 most of the greens have no grass. They were aerated at some point, truly unplayable a good number of the fairways on the back are in good shape. Will not play here again.

What a terrible golf experience! The greens were so bad! Worst we have ever seen! Either patches of grass with just sand/gravel or no grass patches at all! If it wasn’t for the horrible conditions of the greens it could have been a wonderful golf day!

How they are running the place like this… it was like

Abandoned Golf course. The green was like nothing

But only ground i barely see the green on cup holes.

Also employee was so rude like we did something wrong to them. I think even one star is waste to give them.

Holiday so they are charged $70.

I don’t care what it was but I had bad memories

I don’t know how they running the course like this. The green was nothing but ground. The employees was horrible. They are So rude how they got the 4 stars? I don’t recommend this place. Also they are not even cheap I wish they can give my money back if they can.
