Real Value
The course is not the longest nor the most difficult, but for late February was in great shape. I've always liked the greens at Sheppard Hills because they've got som movement to them. Not just flat! The young man in the Pro Shop was extremely nice as well.
poor greens
Had to play a course the day they top dressed the greens and they did not tell us in advance.
Jim's Round
I had a great round of golf. Pace was good with two groups in front of me for the afternoon. Tee boxes and greens were in excellent shape. Fairways were okay with some weeds in the fairway. Grass on the fairway was well maintained as was the first cut and rough. The rough was fair but still challenging. Staff was friendly and the maintenance staff was very courteous when you were taking a shoot. Will be going back until winter really sets in.
Good public course
Course is always in good shape- greens are a little slow but run true
Great course.
Me as an amateur golfer, I enjoy playing here cause it brings my game to a new level. I know I have to do better each hole. Staff is friendly and the price is great. I would keep going to Shepherd Hills.
This course is in great condition! They have made many improvements in 2017 with more to come in 2018. The greens are best in the valley! My family and I have been playing this course as long as I can remember. Friendly staff and a great price!
Animals in Distress Golf Tournament
Everything golf related for the tournament was great. All signs were out, the CTP measuring devices were great and the long drive signs were out there. Check in was efficient and everyone got done in under 4 1/2 hours.
Beautiful Greens and Challenging.
Lovely course, great bargain. Easy T time booking.
Challenges a golfers accuracy off the tee.
Favorite course in the area
great course lots of different holes great price compared to other courses in the area.
i'm a sucker for a good bar with a decent golf course
Played on a recent Sunday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. Go Birds! Anyways, the course was in fine shape, tee boxes level, fairways cut and the rough was manageable with the greens rolling true. I've been able to play up here at least once or twice year now for the last 10 years and I enjoy the course a little more each time I play it. ....One note of caution, this is not a knock but an observation, if I'm a lefthander with a tendency to slice I may just want to skip the front nine and play the back twice as 8 of the first nine holes have woods or out of bounds down the left side. Me being a righty with a fade "slice" it' a fun course to play. Did the hot deal and was treated like a VIP!
Different
The course was in good shape so it was worth the play. While I checked that I would not recommend this course, the intent was that I would recommend the course of you are closer to the course. Traveling 45 minutes yup an hour, the price would need to be right.
There are some blind shots which made it a bit more interesting for a first time play.
Great Deal
Could not pass up this deal. The course meanders through various types of housing. I was glad to be playing with a couple of guys who were familiar with getting from green to the next tee. The course is short and although the fairways for the most part are wide there isn't much margin for error if you hit the rough. Greens and most tees in very nice shape.
Time was short so I didn't get a chance to visit the newly renovated bar and grill.
Had a nice round with friendly people. I would recommend the course and hope to see more improvements to make it more interesting.
A neighborhood Gem
This course running links-style through a neighbor west of Allentown was a nice playing course in excellent shape. No sprinklers but still in good shape. It definately on our list to come back to.
Fun tight course
Of course it's not the best course but it's fun and cheap. The fairways could be mowed more but the greens are in good shape. There are a lot of hazards left and right so be tight.
Work Still to Go
The sand traps are not sand-they are clay and stone-they really need much attention. Grass clippings were everywhere throughout the course. There was nobody minding the pace of play which was slower than slow. Walk-ons were permitted to start in between those of us who had made tee times.
