River Valley Country Club

I thoroughly enjoy River Valley golf course. I’ve played there numerous times and it’s always a fun day of golf. Nice start to the round with the first few holes allowing for some scoring opportunities. Get your game in gear by the time you reach #6 (a test for any golfer).

Conditions are normally excellent (kudos to the staff), but weather has factored in this year with near drought like conditions affecting the grass. Greens are superb and always consistent one hole to another. Pace of play is good and the staff in the clubhouse is friendly and helpful. If I lived closer, I would be a member for sure. Lastly, I love telling people about the course or taking people there with me so they too can enjoy a great day of golf!

Beautiful location nestled in mountains all around. Miserable old nag in pro shop. Condescending and rude. Should be fired. Fairways and greens ok but total lack of design and imagination.

Not a terrible course , sand and greens lack imagination

First time playing this course. Greens were in great condition and rolled true. A few appeared “turtleback” with some funky breaks so that was a challenge. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. Very impressed for a north central PA golf course. Course management team should be commended for the condition. With a mountain course, some sloped fairways led to some interesting stances pre-swing and not knowing where not to hit the ball impacted my score. Only area of improvement would be the golf carts. They have certainly been used hard and could use a refresh though they did climb all the hills with billygoat precision so the carts are my only criticism. Overall, a very solid course and a real challenge. I would go play it again. Appreciate the staff I interacted with as they were very helpful. I hope to visit again next year!

Great course. Greens are in great shape and fast. Don't land above the hole! The scenery is incredible. Don't realize how great the scenery is until you see it.

Very nice course, hidden gem in a picturesque setting. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this course and always enjoy playing there even if my score isn’t so good lol

My daughter and I really enjoyed playing this course. I’ve played it several times in the past and have always had a good time. The staff is friendly when I check in and the course is always in good shape. They are undergoing some irrigation work, and so the course is under some repair, but I bet when the work is done, it’ll be even better condition-wise.

Superintendent does a great job with the greens, tee boxes and fairways. Rough is normally cut down so it’s very playable. Couldn’t recommend River Valley any more highly. I will most certainly be back again and again.
