Horrible conditions

We played the course with no notification of a new irrigation system being installed on the whole course recently. Much of the course is under repair damaged ground damaged fairways. All of the greens have an irrigation trench around the entire green that is filled with sand, which will stop any ball that rolls through it, making conditions unfavorable. The website nor anyone told us prior to arriving that the course had been under repair. Very, very poor conditions will not play again should not have paid to play how I known the conditions were as bad as they were.

The course is in good shape. Some patches of rocks with out grass but overall solid. The green are in better shape than other middle TN courses due to the very hot summer

Excellent Parks Course

Mo Bell is a very enjoyable golf course. It’s very challenging but has tee boxes for everyone to play at their skill level. I play there at least twice a month. The fairways are generous and the greens are excellent. I’ll keep coming back.

Very poor course

Me and my friends came from all the way in Brentwood and were instantly disappointed. Poor tee boxes, poor fairways, awful quality grass, rocks everywhere. Do not recommend this course one bit.

Holiday Weekend

They jacked the price up for Labor Day. Even with a state employee discount, it was more expensive than most courses I have played.

The course itself was fun and I really enjoy playing here. Wouldn’t come back on a holiday weekend though.

Overpriced bad experience

The fairways were awful. They apparently have not fairway sprinklers as the fairways have no grass. The tee boxes were just as bad. The greens were in god condition because they are championship Bermuda. The pace of play was awful and no Marshall to help. The teenagers in front of us drove on all par 3s, drove a cart through a bunker, drove on 2 greens, and they each hit multiple balls on every hole. The state of Tennessee can do better than this. Municipal courses in Nashville are in much better shape than. Had the staff told us how bad the fairways were, we wouldn’t have played.. They should not charge full price in this condition. They need to enforce pace of play and abuse by kids. We reported the kids actions to the pro shop

Goat track…..but the greens are good!

Greens are in great condition but the rest of the course is really rough. Could be a really beautiful/challenging shorter course if they put even half as much work into the rest of the course as they do the greens

Course has seen better days

Course is in bad shape (burnt grass/dirt patches everywhere, unplayable shots all over due to poor course management), pace of play is slow, and prices are high (70 dollars) considering the first two items I mentioned. If you’re in this area, just play Greystone. Nicer in almost every conceivable way.

Course needs better care or prices to drop considerably. Shouldn’t cost over 35 dollars to play here.

Help this course

Obviously there is no sprinkler system for the fairways. They are dry with no grass. The greens are great but if a course is in this bad of shape, they shouldn’t charge full price. We play RTJ state owned courses in Alabama for $50 per round. The state of Tennessee should be ashamed. On top of that the rudest DCHS golf team members were ahead of us and drove on all par 3s, drove on the greens, and drove through a sand trap. There are no marshalls to keep up the pace or enforce rogue kids or adults.

What Happened

Played this course 3 times before today, and it used to be pure. The greens some of the worst I’ve ever seen. It was very disappointing to see one of my favorite courses in this bad of shape. $60-$80 for the course right now is robbery.

Burnt to the dickens

I wanted to start off this review by telling everyone that I hit a 3 iron to 10 feet and drained an eagle on the 2nd hole. thx. The course was so burned out but the greens were in a decent condition, enough to make putts... the pace of play made me actually want to tickle my own taint right there in the cart. Jesus H, maybe if courses (especially ones owned by the deep state government and thus subsidzed) would make tee times farther than 10 minutes apart more people would enjoy golf and not just slap it around until the 18th... pace of play can ruin a good round, I still posted a nifty 79 though.

Nice track

Good course, was in good shape for a little lack of rain. Greens rolled great. A few bad patches on fairways but did not effect play.

Best Value in Mid TN

Montgomery Bell is half the price of Hermitage, Gaylord, and others. 2 of us hit balls and rode 18 for $120 total on a Sunday in late May '25. Greens were fast and true and fairways were mostly grass, which is incredible for the amount of oak trees and other acidic bushes hurting the quality of grass. The course is worth the drive, it's loaded with wildlife and native flowers. It's a beautiful drive through the woods with the opportunity to play golf.
