Lewisburg Recreation Center

We came to this course and paid $45 each for what was supposed to be18 holes. We finish the first 9 and these 2 teenage boys came and said “do you have any idea why we’re out here?” We were all confused because we hadn’t done anything wrong. He goes “seriously you don’t know” with a smirk on his face. And we shook our heads and he told us to go to the desk because we only paid for 9 holes. And we said ok we will. And then he goes “seriously go up there right now” as we were about to go up there. We go in there and pay at the desk and then as we’re walking out we were yelled at again that we only paid for 1 person. So in the end it turned out to be around $200 for 2 golfers, when we could’ve went to a country club or nice golf course and paid less than that without the rude employees. I understand if prices went up, but the way the teenage boys spoke to us and handled the situation was completely unacceptable.

Cost is too high. I may be cheap but price is too high for this 9-holer where players do NOT repair their ball marks on the green. Every green looked like the surface of the moon yesterday...EVERY SINGLE GREEN. NO ONE repaired their ball marks on the greens.

Challenging enough without losing a dozen balls. Only areas you can't take the carts is close to the greens. Not real busy on weekdays and dont need a Tee time.

Every town should be so lucky to have a small muni course and rec center as nice as Lewisburg.

Overall an easy track. Always can find deals to go out and play two 9’s with a cart for under 40 bucks. Pace of play can be weird because there’s a lot of miss hits and people playing in other fairways. But hey, it’s a gem for a muni.

If you're first-time playing golf this is the place to do it.

Great price not a very challenging course but if you are a beginner and you want to practice on a course this place is great for that.

This course is a great value, but don’t expect great service from the staff. When we checked in, the young lady at the desk couldn’t even bother to take off her head phones or greet us, and she barely acknowledged we were there. She seemed annoyed we were there. At the end of the day, I tried to acknowledge the help of one of the mowing crew who rushed over to help when my wife fell on the course, but the young man just grunted and said ok. Not sure who or where the leadership is at the Rec Center, but there is obviously very little of it. Not the Tennessee I know. Felt like I was back in New England.

As for the course, I would rate it fair. Greens were in good condition - fairways not so much (to be expected at a Muni course). It was a good challenge for beginner to intermediate golfers. Pretty wide open with plenty of forgiveness for mistakes off the tee or on approach (heck, this was the first time in my life I played the entire day with the same ball).

Bottom Line: we’ll go back for the value and the good pace of play even for beginners.

It’s a 9 hole course so to play 18 you have to play it twice, both times around groups in front of me hitting 2-3 balls at a time every shot showing the pace of play up and no golf etiquette, nobody offered the faster smaller groups to play through. Groups hitting multiple balls and then spending too much time looking for their ball and then hitting multiple balls again is just ridiculous!

Stopped by to play nine before heading to work in Nashville good value course for nine holes if you play 18 you just double up on the nine I had a set of ladies in front of me playing the tee off at my 820 tee time. I wasn’t even in the tea box yet and a man behind me started rushing me asked me when I was going to tee up. I pointed to the ladies and he shrugged his arms. The man continue to play into me. the whole time I was there. I finally jumped a hole and he never caught up. There seem to be what I thought was a Marshall running around, but nothing ever occurred with him. Hole 8 tea box ground was so hard. You couldn’t even get a tea into it.
